Hi Everbody!

You know what I love the most about train travel? I'm not at home! The TV isn't giving me any bad news -- I get to step back and pretend it's another time and place. The train's perfect for that -- nothing can really get you on the train -- we brought along our books, the tea pot, some wine, (our liquids are important to us), nuts and chocolate, I brought my diary...Elizabeth played opera on her lap top, which goes surprisingly well with train travel, and we watched the world fly by from our little room with a view. A nice slow old-fashioned train ride across America out to Martha's Vineyard is the perfect tonic for a too-busy world...I recommend it along with this old-fashioned advice on keeping things simple:

Guardian Angel

I wanted to catch you up on what's been going on with us besides this train ride! We had the Launch Party for our new fabric collection, "TEA PARTY," a couple of weeks ago...it was a gorgeous day; I put some photos of the party on our newly updated HOME PAGE (lots of new fun stuff in the web store). And the fabric itself ought to be in your local quilting stores by now or very soon...we would love you to get yours at your local quilting store, as we love these little stores and the hard-working creative people who own them.

If they don't carry it, you can ask them to get it, just suggest they contact RJR Fabrics who manufactures it. BUT, if you really can't find it, or if you live out in the waaaaay country, and have no local quilting stores, we also carry the fabric in our WEB STORE. We also have two brand new QUILT DESIGNS that you can download for free! I absolutely love the fabric, lots of whites with little patterns, pinks that hue toward coral, soft yellows and blues too. All those old-fashioned colors that quilts love to be made out of. In my humble opinion. (Although I realize that people who HAVE opinions are probably not that humble, making the entire thing an oxymoron.) But I digress. (I seem to be talking too much...)

What else? ...OH...

Scrapbook

I'm so excited to tell you our brand new Scrapbooking Kit has arrived. It's a book of 64, 12" x 12" perforated scrapbooking pages, decorated for the 4 seasons, plus stickers and diecuts to match -- a 200 piece set.

All that I am or hope to be, I owe to my angel mother

Mother's Day is on May 11th. We have lots of perfect things for mom's in our web store, since that's basically what it's all about for us...including the Best Mom in the World Pendant we had made especially for you (and my mom!)...and only sold in our store or on our web site.

Flowers

In closing I have to tell you how wonderful your letters to K and Company, EK Success, and Checks in the Mail were . . . I still don't know what will happen there, but I know for sure now that I won't give up on trying to get stickers, checks, and scrapbooking things again. You, on my side, have made a huge difference, and I can't thank you enough for it!

Spring was springing from our train window all the way across country. All the trees had little clouds of color around their branches as the first leaves were just coming through. We didn't know what to expect, but while waiting for the ferry boat to come take us the last leg of our trip, we had lunch on a restaurant patio in the sun, next to the harbor, on a beautiful 75 degree day! I sent out boxes of fresh limes and artichokes from our house in California, so now, here on Martha's Vineyard, I'll get to experience my second spring this year! As Mae West said, "Too much of a good thing can be wonderful."

With Love
