“Hello,” as my dad says, “from Smallville!” ‘Cause that’s where I live too. And I like it here. Sometimes the world just seems too big ~ but the bigger it gets, the smaller I get ~ because here in Smallville, it’s always a nice day. There’s plenty to do in Smallville too … it’s not a boring place.
Things that don’t count in the big world are EVERYTHING here. When the world tries to get into Smallville and upset the smallness, I shut it out, turn on the MUSICA (listening to this now), light a fire (hearing it crackle), watch the birds busy at the feeders (peep-peep), and do what needs to be done.
Like cleaning shelves. Nothing more common sense than this, sometimes it needs to be done. I give myself a sense of purpose and accomplishment by getting the cooking juices off my shelves with a hot soapy cloth; washing dishes (I wash the ones with gold trim on them by hand) and putting them back on the shelves, shiny and clean. Standing back and looking at my handiwork and saying, “ahhhh, look at that sparkle!” I’m always happiest when my corner of the world is clean and organized and a new year for me always includes organization, which my mom says, is the key to success.
Some of the dishes are washed by hand, and these just came out of the dishwasher.
It’s before dawn and my audience is very quiet, just waking up, she pussyfoots around. No loud applause. Just purring.
And speaking of organization . . .
The other thing I wanted to share with you is an organizing thing that has turned out to be SO GOOD I had to tell you about it. I had this old (no longer in print) unused address book lying around, so I grabbed it and turned it into a brand new thing.
It’s now my “Internet Address and Password Log Book.” Before I thought of this, I had all my websites and passwords written, but not alphabetized, on four pieces of paper (adding more pages all the time) that got limper and more tattered and worn by the day; torn on the fold and messy with additions and pencil smears ~ I would have to “re-do” the whole thing every so often.
Now I have a real book I can put everything in. Like here, under C, the phone number and email address for Customer Service at my Studio.
It’s a hard-cover book with alphabet tabs that keep everything I need right at my fingertips.
For instance, under M, for Mom, here are all the websites, user names and passwords I need in order to pay my mom’s bills online. There are copies of her two credit cards, in case I need them. (These pages look a lot better in real life than they do in these photos ~ I didn’t think it would be very smart for me to show the world my passwords so I sort of squiggled them out; I knew you would be proud of me for the quick thinking.)
Under G is my Google Password, and all my contacts with the people at Gladys Taber, my Gmail and Goodreads Passwords too. Under S, I have web addresses for all the online places I like to Shop, passwords and usernames for shoes and sweaters and art supplies (sometimes I cross-reference and put art supplies under A, or U for Utrecht); under P, I have my Pinterest and Paypal account numbers . . . under C I have my Computer fix-it people, my Credit Card account numbers and contacts, and so on. I can pack this book up and take it with me no matter where I go! Very handy don’t you think? SO much better than my previous way of doing it.
I thought maybe this was something you might want to do. And, just in case you don’t have an old address book lying around . . .
I do! Two in fact, you can choose! You like yellow? We have yellow. You like blue? We have blue!
Both come complete with alphabet tabs . . .
They’re both in full color, binder style, they come with lots of pages. I blow on my fingernails, polish them on my sweater, say to myself, Brilliant! It makes me feel good to be organized.
And if you like it too, I have something for you!
A new drawing for these two “Internet Address Books,” one for our lucky winner, and one for the lucky winner to give away to her lucky friend! All you have to do is leave a comment and you’ll be entered into the drawing. (NOTE: If the blog is mailed to you, you might not see a place to leave a comment, go directly to www.162.240.10.175/~susanbs3/susanbranch/, scroll to the bottom of this post, look for the tiny word “Comments” at the very end in tiny grey letters, click there to comment so you’re entered into the drawing.) Vanna (she’s our virtual in-house Game Girl and “random number generator,” although she would hate to be called this) is on high alert, ready to do her job in a few days, to choose the winner.
So here in Smallville, all is well, even though it’s freezing outside . . .
And everything is coated in this crisp frozen-on snow crust . . .
The wind whistles and the shutters bang and ice crystals grace all our upstairs windows ~
Inside Smallville, it’s 72°, it’s organized (within reason) and as flowery and summer-like as I need it to be while I paint for our new 2016 calendars.♥
Last but not least, I realize there’s not enough Kitty Love in this post, in case you need a fix, go HERE, for full and complete inundation.♥
And a reminder of the best of the little things in life:
A kitty will make you laugh every day and that is simply priceless. Love you Girlfriends. ♥ Don’t forget to leave your comment. Have a wonderful day! All my love from Smallville, USA. XOXO
Hello from “chilly” Wisconsin. Great idea for condensing the here-and-there of passwords etc. But what I REALLY enjoyed was looking at Jack’s baby book again! Let us know if you ever figure out a way to keep our cats as tiny kittens.
Dearest Big Love,
Thank-you from my smallville to your smallville, you put me right back where I need to be ! The ugliness from the Big world was creeping in and my heart was hurting for it. Then I remembered “Count your Blessings out loud ” and your new post arrived ! We kindred spirits are all so connected, just one of my zillion blessings ! Now there is such Big HOPE for the BIG world out there !
LOVE, Wendy-Louise oxoxoxoxoxoxox
Yay!
Hi Susan,
I have a black address book that I use for work-related passwords. Now I need to organize one for personal passwords which are on paper near computer.
It is frigid cold here with more wintry weather due next week. I restocked my pantry and freezer after a trip to Costco yesterday…so I am ready for hearty beef stew or homemade spaghetti this weekend. Enjoy the warmth by the fireplace, and remember to bundle up for outings.
Happy New Year!
Great organization idea! And very pretty glassware too!
Hi Susan,
What an amazing idea! I have my passwords on a piece of paper and everything is squeezed in so tight it’s hard to read them.
-Kathleen
I love to organize! I even have the very book you are using, but I use it for my address book. It’s been erased, scratched through and white outed so many times, it’s ridiculous. But I can’t replace it! I love it!! Now, if I could just find the time to clean my cabinets…… 🙂
Susan, what a great idea for the address books. We all have so many passwords etc. to keep track of these days. I always enjoy reading your blog. You are an inspiration.
I love the new use for the Address book. I have a rolodex type address book that I might do the same thing with.
What a great idea! Lovely address books as well. Your style makes me happy!
Love the way you think, Susan! Your blog is such an inspiration…it always puts me in a good mood. Love the address books and the way you gave things organized. Would love to have your address book!!
it is a wonderful idea especially for helping keep our senior moms’ and dads’ information organized! would love your address book to add to my collection of “Susan Branch!!”
I have one of your older address books that I have had for years the one with the garden theme of garden gloves and trowel. I would love to find replacement pages but have been unsuccessful. Do you offer them? I love the
book and will never part with it. I would love to win the 2 address books and your suggestion of using them for passwords is a grand idea. Thanks for your wonderful blog.
That is an oldie! I’m sorry, the manufacturer of these books has never made replacement pages, which is why I asked them to put in so many in the first place, my only hope of overcoming that problem. BUT once I took my book with me and found replacements that fit … it was years ago, and probably harder to find now, but at least I can say it has been done. Sorry I’m not more help, Sherry!
This is just the perfect thing for a neighbor friend who I have been helping with her computer! She is a bit older and her passwords are scattered on scraps of paper! This is an awesome way to help her….and me of course too!
How good of you to do that! She will love it!
Had a terrible day yesterday so today I am going to stay home and nest!! Remind myself how blessed I am for my home and the people in it!!
Yes, it is always a nice day in Smallville. Sending love.
I put all my passwords in a tiny, matchbook size address book that I can never find because I hide it so well. I could really use a bigger one. 🙂
I use this system too and highly recommend it! I still need to be in this generous contest though because my actual address book is coming apart at the seams. Your cozy world looks so inviting. Thanks for taking us in out of the cold!
Such a simple idea but gives such a happy reward! Love it!!
Oh my gosh! This will be great for those of us with too many passwords and too little memory (raising my hand!)!!
Thanks Susan…for the great idea!! With all the sad news…I have tuned out also and am working on organizing boxes of old photos!!! ugh…what a job!! Now you have me enthused to doing a password address book next! Whatever will we do when all is organized and sorted out in our lives?? ;/)
Never fear, from what I can see, it will never happen.
Dearest Susan,
You are brilliant!!
Fondly,
A kindred spirit of Smallville
My mother told us girls (I am the oldest of three) that we were capable and smart AND, “if you are organized and work hard, you can do anything you put your mind to do.” We believed her. It works! Organization and hard work = the key to success (with prayers and guidance from God, of course.)
One of my favorite quotes: “Trust in God but continue to row toward shore.”
When I see a great idea I think that it makes so much sense, why didn’t I think do that….I am going to follow in your footsteps and organize pass words as my method is driving me a little crazy!!
Sunny AG will be in the 70’s today no snow or rain in site.
Happy painting!
That’s a great idea! And I would love to win one of your pretty address books. Mine is in sad shape and needs to be replaced anyway. Happy organized 2015!
Love to organize after the New Year begins. Make every thing clean and file all the prior year’s bills and mail. Organize the pantry, linen closet, and cupboard under the bathroom vanity (phew). Then the really big one is my sewing room, that one takes days to organize.
Your idea for a password book is totally awesome, you are so clever! 🙂
What a wonderful idea for bringing beauty to our organization! I always look forward to reading your posts, Susan, as they are instrumental in making my soul slow down, quiet itself and embrace the beauty expressed in your words and pictures as well as that in my own surroundings. Thank you…
❌⭕️ My pleasure Kim
Have used my Susan Branch Address book for years…..so many memories in it with all the changing addresses and numbers! Love the idea for passwords….will be a huge help for my husband and I to keep each other updated!
What a grandiose idea! Mine are written here and there and never available when needed! AND Hubby and I love “Smallville”. How clever of your Dad! We shall adopt it and think of you two! Right now in Smallville, ID we have a wild turkey looking in the glass door from the deck! Thank you for the giveaway and for your blog that is so delightfully entertaining! Heavenly blessings to you! Cathy in Idaho
What a coincidence! I was just bemoaning all the little scraps of paper with passwords on them! Great idea. (and I’d love to win the address books)
So smart, you are! I love this idea. Right now, my passwords are on my computer, which I’m more and more thinking isn’t the smartest thing to do… Thank you for so much for all the beauty you add to my world!
I think I need to win those darling address books. I keep my personal passwords written on two tiny yellow pieces of legal paper kept in my change purse/wallet. Then I have two bosses (attorneys) whose screen names and passwords I have to keep track of too. If I win, I will give the second book to my sissy Alice!
Pick me! Pretty please with sugar on top!
Oh what a GREAT idea! I ‘used’ to save my password and important ‘stuff’ on my smart phone but I had to take my phone in for what I thought was a simple repair and Apple simply erased everything in order to possibly fix it…which meant there goes my important stuff…I didn’t back it up. I’ve had my ah ha moment at that point and decided that good old fashioned pen and paper is probably best. Now you have given a wonderful and VERY organized way to do this. LOVE!
That is my fear exactly. At least on paper, we’re safe unless the whole house burns down!
Okay, Miss Susan I’m going to take a bite of this. Maybe Vanna will pick me. That would be so cool. Not having a great day, my Connor flew back home to Virginia to start the last half of his season with Richmond Ballet. He came back home for a bit with us after the holidays. I suppose it was a good thing. Kind of easing me into being back home. No one is here, husband started a new job, and all the kids are gone. I’m sad, the silence is deafening. IDK what I will do with myself. I just knew reading your blog always helps me feel better. I’m trying, really I am. We call this igging it out in my family cause that is just what it feels like. Happy New Year & Happy Winter, at least the sun is shining. <3
Take a bubble bath, turn up old music, get a good book, I promise, you will start feeling better.
Happy New Year, Susan!
And what a great idea! If I don’t win one, I am definitely buying one!
Enjoy this beautiful season of warm coziness with your kitties and Joe!
Patricia
Hi Susan, Wish I was in Smallville. Instead I am at work and counting the days until I can retire and spend more time in Smallville. You have hooked me on Downtown Abbey and finding this show has led me to Call The Midwife. Being a public health nurse, I follow my pregnant ladies with home visits to provide education and support. I am not a widwife but I do get to see them at home after they have their babies. Myself along with my fellow nurses follow both of these shows religiously with much discussion the day after they’re on. I have a hard time with understanding the British accents. My friend told me to put the closed captioning on. Wow, I don’t miss anything now. Have a good day in Smallville. Wish I was there.
Jayne
Nurses are angels, thank you for what you do, and tell all the “girls” we are thanking them too!
What a wonderful idea! I have 2 pages of wide-ruled notebook paper, front and back for mine…in desperate need of an update.
These 6-ring (or even 3-ring) small notebooks are hard to find. I make one for graduating High Schoolers for all of their “home” addresses and birthdays, so they don’t forget to write home every once in a while.
What a brilliant idea, we too have our passwords, etc on numerous small tattered papers…but no more. I’m putting this idea in effect right away(and if I am chosen for the giveaway, I’ll do it all again in that lovely journal)
xo Pat
Now, THAT is an inspired idea!! Quite organized and concise, but with your darling illustrations….charming as well.
Great idea!! Perfect timing…I am organizing my home…..getting the clutter out…taking deep breathes….counting my blessings! Thanks for a wonderful Friday morning surprise….you bring light and joy to my life! Happy weekend!
If you could see my address book, you’d let me win! Just what I need to make my New Year’s resolution happen. Thanks so much for your inspirations.
You creativity is amazing! Thank you for another inspiring idea and for sharing your delightful life in Smallville!
Happy New Year Susan, I just love winter, snow, fireplaces, carbs!!
Susan! What a fabulous idea!Thank you so much for sharing that with us! Such a clever way to round up all that information! I confess that when it comes to “old school” I’ve also used an old Rolodex! However, your idea is so much better because it is all contained in such a lovely “package”! Thank you for the cozy little blessing that your blog is to us as we go through this wintery blast!
I love organization! This is such a good idea – I have post-it notes everywhere with passwords, so this would be a delightful way to keep up with them all! And the everyone does need a kitten! I know I love all four of mine! My cats make everyday happier.
Your postings are always so awesome to me and so inspiring! You really know how to make a snowy, cold day in Connecticut feel warm and cozy! Loved looking at your sparkling clean dishes and glasses. I too love to get organized this time of the year. It’s such a good feeling. I would love to be the lucky one to receive your address books…….they’re so lovely and such a nice way to put things in order. Thank you for your thoughtfulness and generosity in giving us all a chance to be lucky enough to be chosen! Keep the fire going and the soup simmering on the stove!
Love your blog today.
Love the idea of re-purposing the address book. But even more than that, I love the idea of being able to create your own little haven – particularly in today’s challenging times. I got up and danced round my sitting room to your Musica – much to my dog’s delight – Thank you!
And mine!
I loved your post today. Thank you.
Wonderful idea, I have mine on random sheets of paper tucked in the back of the calendar.
Hi Susan! You’re absolutely right! Organization is a must in my household, as well. When I want some item in my house, I go to the place in my house where that item is supposed to be, & there it is (usually). It gives me a sense of calm to have everything organized. Your address book is generally the way I organize things as well, but one more tip, if I may…….when someone gives me their card, I tape it into my address book.
As for the kitty words. My new kitty, Sheba (Himalayan beauty), makes me laugh each day, just as you said a kitty would do. Here are some of the things she does that make me laugh:
It is even cold down here in the deep South – stay warm and Happy New Year!
Boy – what a great idea. I, too, have all my passwords and other numbers on the back of envelopes, scraps of paper and even pinned to my bulletin board so that burglars can spot them right away! Such a simple, easy solution! If I win, I am keeping the yellow book for myself since I use the blue one for my snail mail addresses. I would be so organized!!! I will just have to decide which of my girlfriends needs the blue one the most. I am hunkered down, trying to bake to help warm up in frigid Ohio. Yesterday it was -12 with the wind chill, but I was able to go out and shovel some of the new four inches Mother Nature blessed us with overnight in the balmy 14 degrees this morning!
I love hearing how everyone’s been keeping their passwords . . . we really are kindred spirits!
Good Morning – you always put a smile on my face. I love the days when there is a new post from you.
Stay warm,
Sue from Simi
I love all the colors in your home. Love your blog.
Hello there! First off, I’m rather new to your blog, but LOVE your posts on anything about your trip to England. 😀 Your book “A Fine Romance,” is definitely one of my fondest and most favorite books. And kitty-kitty and Jack, are, oh, so delightful. Also, I absolutely love the idea of how you changed an address book into a “Internet Address and Password Log Book.” So cute!
Have a lovely day.
When we went on the trip to England, you may not know, but we took the blog with us — yes all the Girlfriends squished into suitcases and stowed aboard the Queen Mary 2, keeping out of sight because of course they were stowaways! Anyway, there are lots of posts I did while we were in England, in case you haven’t seen them . . . look at May and June 2012.
How did you know I needed a new address book, I’ve run out of blank pages in my old one and all the crossed out names and addresses have left me no room for new ones. Hopefully I’ll be the blessed recipient of these two books!
I also use a composition book with a ton of sticky notes!!!!
(actually, I don’t think I’ve ever written anything in the comp book..it’s just my “holding book” for sticky notes and scraps of paper!!!!!)
Oops, I hit some darn key that sent what I’d written, when I wasn’t ready to send it. Anyway, back to what Sheba does to make me laugh:
-Awakens me every morning, precisely at 7 A.M. Gets in my face & meows. How does she know what time it is? Her stomach must growl, eh?
-Chases little rubber balls, especially likes it when they bounce high. She’s an excellent catcher. Also enjoys little balls of wadded up paper.
-Stalks our dog Jack. Jack & Sheba love to chase one another through the long hall in our house.
-She doesn’t like being held, but will put up with it for awhile. When she wants her tummy scratched, she’ll plop by my feet & turn over.
-There’s a special string (from one of my sweats) that she loves. She picks it up with her mouth, then drags it through the house. The string is very long & trails between her feet, sort of like a bridal veil behind her.
-She sits near slider screens during the day, enjoying the outside from the “inside” of our house. When she sees a bird, she stalks it & is very quiet so that many of the birds come rather close to her.
-When she gets outside (by mistake), she is very scared. She’ll walk for awhile, away from the house, then run back into the safety of the house.
I love having a cat & dog together. They’re such great company. I don’t know what I’d ever do without them. They’re dear, dear friends. (Sandy from Chihuahua Flats)
Love the idea of a password book. Kittens are always a good idea!
Such a great idea to organize everything in such pretty colored address books!
I <3 LOVE this idea of organizing using an address book!!! Since, I of course am always forgetting things I need to remember…. 🙂 My brother is always telling me to put my smart phone to use…but there's something about having a book in hand and being able to use pretty colored pens to jot things down!!
I have the yellow one & am using it for regular (postal) addresses. I have a very small notebook ( think about 2″ long by 1″wide) that I have been adding passwords to for a year or more. Every time I need a password, I have to page through it. This idea of putting them in an organized book is brilliant! Good little winter task to handle in front of the fire!
That’s where I did it . . . quick easy little job too . . . I think the reason most of us didn’t think of it earlier is because we didn’t know we would end up with a ton of passwords. It’s one thing to have a piece of paper with 2 passwords on it, but what’s happened to me just didn’t work that way anymore!
Just came in from shoveling snow in my little Smallville–a light, fluffy three inches–woke up the computer and there was your new blog post. 🙂 Susan, what a great idea for keeping all those sites, addresses, and passwords organized!! Sure beats the scribbled, JUST readable mess I have. LOL And your mom is SO right about organization. Just saying… 😉
Enjoy!
Andrea
Grand idea for this brrrr-freezing weather, Susan, wash the sparkly stuff. I’ll get on that right after lunch. Wanted to tell you, my friend and I FINALLY got to see Paul McCartney in concert in late October. Only took us 50 years, but it was worth it. Tons of Boomers in the sold-out audience made us all feel part of The Thing that was so important to us back in 1964. Now we’ve both breathed the same air as Paul McCartney — except you were really, really close! Happy new year, Susan and Joe and Jack and Little Girl.
Lucky you Nora! I bet it was wonderful!
Susan…….What a great idea…..I have the original book….it needs to be updated..so this is perfect. Also you are a sweet and wonderful daughter….God Bless you…for as He blesses you …we also get blessed with your gifts. Thank You, Love, Susan P.
What a wonderful wonderful thought xoxoxo
Such a wonderful idea from the “Mayor” of Smallville. Where were you three months ago?
My ever-so-helpful husband took it upon himself to reorganize my desk top and inadvertently tossed my ragged internet password list. Yikes! I am still traumatized. Thanks for sharing with your girlfriends.
OMG. That sends a chill up my spine!
What a fabulous idea!
I just knew there was a reason that I kept forgetting to order the password keeper book I saw in a catalog, because I would LOVE to have one of yours dear Susan!! What a great idea, it’s definitely one of those “Why didn’t I think of that” things!! Girl is so sweet checking out all of your pretty dishes, love seeing pictures of her (& Jack of course)! Stay warm in your cozy home it sure looks cold outside, burr….It’s in low 70’s today here, but we are supposed to get some rain on Sunday, I hope. P.S. Loved your musica hugs from me to you!!
Hi Susan! I L O V E your idea of turning an address book into an “Internet Address and Password Log Book.” BRILLANT! This was a beautiful post and I love seeing everything clean and in its place too. Life is CRAZY good! With joy and love! ♥
Perfect idea. And they are not out in the open for all to see like mine are now. 🙁
I, too, loved your idea!!!. It certainly beats the many bits of paper I have, with a rubber band around them. Loved your idea!!
Hi Susan!! I’ve been wanting to comment for an eternity, so today seems as good a day as any! My reading of your blog started when I ordered your “To My Daughter” recipe book. I have admired your work for ages and since following you I have found and purchased many of your books. Most recently I bought A Fine Romance and am about half way through! Love, love, love it!! You are a bright spot in each and every day! I, too, am a So. Cal. girl! I have always had a serious love of New England, even though I’ve never been there, and share so much in common with you. Your decorating, your recipes, tea, vintage everything and of course your love of kitties!!! My little Spunky is going on 20 years old and your Jack’s antics remind me incredibly of Spunky when he was a little guy! Especially Jack’s love of hair bands! Love the idea of using an address book for passwords, etc. Brilliant! Thanks so much for all you share, Susan! You are a true gem!
Lucky, 20 years with Spunky, that’s pretty wonderful!
No argument there at all! He is the sweetest! Oh, forgot to mention, he is also a tuxedo kitty. Looks just like Jack without the mustache! LOL!
I have the blue address book and love it. Just be careful where you keep that book! I love to wash the good crystal and dishes too. Reminds me to use them more often.
Yes, it’s that perfect Mark Twain quote, “Put all your eggs in one basket and WATCH THAT BASKET!”
That’s a great idea – I have passwords coming out of my ears and never know what to do with them all! Will be getting organized this weekend, thank you.
Kept all passwords in the back of the small calendar….This seems like a great idea!
I was going to leave a comment to tell you that I hope you’ll do the year in photos again for 2015. I keep the 2014 photo blog and go to it almost daily for inspiration.
When I got to the website, lo and behold! a new blog I hadn’t received in my inbox yet. Serendipity double, because I’m also cleaning my kitchen. I have a cleaning schedule and do only the kitchen in January because there’s so much to do there with all the cabinets, etc. Some months have two or three rooms, but by December, you’ve completely deep cleaned the entire house. Lists are motivators for me. I like to check things off.
I love your address book idea, but if I won, I’d be stingy and use one now and keep the other for a future “redo” when I needed to update. Bad girl!
What a great idea!! I’m going to do it also!!
Yes! I was just grumbling about my decrepit address book yesterday. Love them both…blue and yellow…can’t go wrong! Happy New Year!
Love your address book. It’s a great way to get organized somewhere 😉
What a great idea Susan. I currently have mine on two pages in a page of my planner. But I love the alphabetizing idea – you’re brilliant!!
Love that idea. Love to be organized. Cleaning my stuff – glassware, china and collectibles is a labor of love for me. Love reading your blog.
That itty-bitty kitty face…oh, my!
She was already taken when I went cat shopping once, I took her picture because she was the cutest sweetest little face I ever saw.
It’s also Smallville here. A close friend, my Maltese dog, Raleigh, and me. It’s quiet today, better for reading my IPad and the newspapers.
I love the Internet Address book idea. I have mine in a spiral notebook, and they are just waiting to be transferred to one of your books.
A kitty would be so nice… Love, love cats, but haven’t taken the plunge. One thing, I never had a cat that stayed indoors all the time, they always had a cat door and could come and go. Things have changed in our neighborhood, we have some “cat haters”, so the cat would be solely an indoor cat. One may come into my life, who knows.
Love your blog
Jack has totally lost interest in going outside. He likes to look, but not go. Thank you Vivian!
My mom does this and I always thought it was a good idea, but I never got around to doing it myself. You have now movitated me! Thanks!!
Aw! I do need a kitten! The address books are wonderful! Yay for Smallville!
Yes this is a Brilliant Idea! I need to work on getting more organized in this way. Thank you for making your Address Books Binder-style.
What a wonderful idea! I would share a book with my dear Mom.
Wonderful idea. I agree-nothing like being organized. Saves a lot of time.
Great idea. I have a manila folder with email addresses, passwords, etc scribbled all over the inside cover. No more! Even if I don’t win this, I’m going to steal the idea!
I am in the process of reordering my world as well. It makes January seem special instead of a let down after the holidays. I love your idea for the address book and I’d love to own one!!
susan, was a great morning to see you great idea. thanks ! keep warm.
What a fabulous idea, the address book. I also have my passwords and internet addresses on various pieces of paper stuffed into a desk drawer. Then when I want one I have to pull everything out of the drawer to find the right paper! How frustrating. I hope to win one of your books, but if not, I’ll go out and look for a suitable substitute.
P.S. Maybe I’ll win the HGTV house and we can be neighbors! 😉
Happy New Year from our parched farmland – still praying for rain! I love how writer Elizabeth Gilbert celebrates the New Year in a big way because, she says, no matter how you messed up the last one they go ahead and give you a BRAND NEW YEAR full of brand new chances and a clean slate. You get to try again and that is a very cool thing!
Wonderful idea and giveaway. I live in Smallville, Florida and have the same feelings about it.
Blessings,
GG
It isn’t a great idea…it’s a Fantastic idea! I also have the need to get organized every New Year. Been doing it for over 30 years now, and it keeps our cozy little home humming along all year through. 🙂 Thank you for the wonderful new idea!!!
Nancy
Such a lovely book. And such a clever idea. My mother had a red leather address book for decades and every once in a while I think how nice it would be to use one. And know I know what for!
What a great idea! I need to get my information organized like that. Have a wonderful day 🙂
What a super idea! I need to get more organized in this area. I have my websites and passwords on index cards that are paper clipped together. This would be much better!
I LOVE your terrific address/password book idea! It sure beats all the yellow sticky notes I keep tapped on my laptop. :}
Thanks!
Vicki
Good morning and what a nice way to start the day with a new blog. Your idea is a very good one. I have had an address book for years and over the years I have so many scraps of paper added with addresses to be added old ones crossed out and several moves that have been crossed out and new addresses scribbled in an untidy manner. In other words its a mess but still all together. A new address book is just what is needed to organize all important addresses and passwords. A new address book is just what is needed to restore order. Please include me in your giveaway.
I normally carry Smallville in my heart! but this morning it felt heavy too much of the big world in, and then there you are, with a new post. How is it possible that with your words and lovely pictures, you can heal heavy hearts!? Well it shouldn’t surprise, it comes with love to us from your home.
Thank you, Susan!!! xoxoxo
p.s. love the address books! 🙂
