Rabbit-Rabbit, It’s JUNE 🌸

Rabbit-Rabbit Girlfriends!  Good Morning! MUSICA It’s the glory of love!

Everything good here ~ so far it looks like it might not rain today! A minor miracle on this first day of June considering that it rained all May ~ but, so far, so good,  it’s dawning with blue skies! Time to turn over the new page on our calendars ~ It’s tea! Perfect timing (how did I know?), because today I’m having twelve best friends for a Farewell Tea Party Twine for a girlfriend who’s moving south! I’m hoping that maybe, just maybe, if the sky stays blue, we’ll be able to have it outside under the arbor!

Our party is at four, so I doubt we’ll need the twinkle lights. But every time I look at that little spot, I think of Mr. Bowditch, who I never met, the man you lived here before us, who built the arbor with his own hands back in the 1950s. He doesn’t know it, but he has given us YEARS of pleasure. He and his wife called the arbor the “Teahouse of the Vineyard Moon.” Romantic people that they were.💞

But I’m still waiting to see if the picnic table gets dried out enough! We cleaned up the dining room just in cases. Jack’s been helping me get ready, but we still have a lot to do. I know everyone is waiting for the drawing . . . So I thought I’d say hello and give us one last day to make sure everyone is signed up for our Luv-lee beautiful cup Giveaway.

Be sure to sign up your sister, your daughter and your mom! And you! Do it today ~ just leave a comment below and you’ll be entered ~ because Vanna (our very interesting “random number generator”) is on her way back to the Island so we’ll try to do the drawing tomorrow depending on what kind of shape she’s in. 😜 You know how she is. (If none of this makes sense to you, read down the next post ~ for drawing explanation.) Until then, off I go . . . Let’s see, where’s that recipe . . . Oh yeah . . .

I’ll take lots of pictures today, between setting the table, cutting chives in the garden for the tender little egg salad sandwiches and dipping the perfectly ripe strawberries into melted chocolate. Ahhh, tea parties. How I love thee.  Have a wonderful day everyone . . . It’s true, to know you is to love you!

P.S. Just saw this photo, wasn’t Jack the sweetest little kitten?  He’s under the bed in the Peter Rabbit room in this photo, on his first day home. All ears and mustache! Intelligence shines out around the eyes, don’t you think? 😘

  2. Karen in NJ says:

I like to have tea parties between Thanksgiving and Christmas. It’s a chance to escape from the running around and to put one’s feet up and visit, and enjoy treats!!

  3. Barb says:

Lady Grey is one of my favorite teas. Hope it stayed dry and your party was lovely. Kitten Jack, oh the delight.

Ahhhhh! Tea!!! You’ve inspired me to pull out my grandmother’s teacups and clean them and drink tea! Earl Grey White or Lavender Dreams❤️

  7. Elaine Anne says:

Rain, rain go away, come again another day. Rain, rain ……. oh what a wet, wet May. If April showers bring May flowers, what do May showers bring? Lots of happy ducks. Lots of tall hay that will be old before second cut. I’m the granddaughter and wife of farmers. Hurt my back, cow stepped on my foot, do I care? Well normally I would be fretting about mowing lawns and tending the garden but since it’s been so wet I wouldn’t have done much of that so when the back heals and the foot is better the sun will shine and we’ll all make hay. I love tea parties, kitties, and girlfriends to join in the fun. Happy June Susan.

  8. Lynn says:

June came so quickly! My age must be showing. One minute I’m shoveling snow, then hoping the tulips don’t blossom too soon to miss our 93rd Annual Tulip Time Festival and then, BOOM! June!

We walked along the sea front to King Henry the 8th’s Southsea Castle and back and caught up with all the news together. And tomorrow I am taking the hovercraft over to my Isle of Dreams, the Isle of Wight, where I lived before I was married! Happy days in the sunshine, on holiday in England….xxx

Hello Susan! I hope you have a great party! The bunny looks so charming in the yard and little kitten Jack is a gem! I remember when you brought him home.

I now have a kitty as well! My very first kitty that we helped when as a stray she came to us pregnant. She only brought us one of her kittens but I believe the others were also rescued. I raised her black and white kitten, Panda, from week one to her 3 month birthday and then found her a forever home. I bonded with and kept the Maine Coon tabby mama kitty since I found I was no longer allergic to cat (at least not to her) and she got along great with my 5 lb. schnauzer. A match made in heaven! Katniss is a sweetheart and has stolen my heart! Now I am mad about kitties! 🙂

  65. Kim Floyd says:

I recently took all of my tea things and had a tea party with one of my 5 year old students and my 78 year old friend! We had quite the time, my young friend provided shot glasses (her version of tea accessories) which were perfect for our used teabags. My older friend provided the dress up clothes, including hats! And I brought the traditional tea service, which brought a bit of refinement to our silly table. My five year old friend will be having surgery soon (she has already had 38 in her short little life), and I wanted her to know that sometimes, a tea party is the answer when nothing else works. So here’s to tea and tea parties, which always make a difficult day better!

Susan, I love the way you look at life. Have enjoyed every blog, every photo and especially every bit of your art work. You brightened alot of my days last year as I had 2 surgeries (1- breast cancer-now ok) and 1 just a polyp. Then this year 4.5 mos. of vertigo. It is so nice to have something beautiful and fun to take my mind off frustrations in the present. When life gets challenging I save your blogs and reread! And I would be thrilled to win one of your beautiful cups!!!Thanks for everything you do that makes life better:) Gail

    • Beth T. says:

Oh, Gail–hang in there. I had vertigo some time ago. It arrived unexpectedly, and was such a torment, but it did go away. No one could really predict when it would leave, and it was discouraging, but it did go. I would have felt better if I’d known even one person who could have told me that from personal experience, so I wanted to be sure to tell you–as tough as this is, it won’t last forever. And I’m sorry you’re going through it.
