Rabbit-Rabbit Girlfriends! Good Morning! MUSICA It’s the glory of love!
Everything good here ~ so far it looks like it might not rain today! A minor miracle on this first day of June considering that it rained all May ~ but, so far, so good, it’s dawning with blue skies! Time to turn over the new page on our calendars ~ It’s tea! Perfect timing (how did I know?), because today I’m having twelve best friends for a Farewell Tea Party Twine for a girlfriend who’s moving south! I’m hoping that maybe, just maybe, if the sky stays blue, we’ll be able to have it outside under the arbor!
Our party is at four, so I doubt we’ll need the twinkle lights. But every time I look at that little spot, I think of Mr. Bowditch, who I never met, the man you lived here before us, who built the arbor with his own hands back in the 1950s. He doesn’t know it, but he has given us YEARS of pleasure. He and his wife called the arbor the “Teahouse of the Vineyard Moon.” Romantic people that they were.💞
But I’m still waiting to see if the picnic table gets dried out enough! We cleaned up the dining room just in cases. Jack’s been helping me get ready, but we still have a lot to do. I know everyone is waiting for the drawing . . . So I thought I’d say hello and give us one last day to make sure everyone is signed up for our Luv-lee beautiful cup Giveaway.
Be sure to sign up your sister, your daughter and your mom! And you! Do it today ~ just leave a comment below and you’ll be entered ~ because Vanna (our very interesting “random number generator”) is on her way back to the Island so we’ll try to do the drawing tomorrow depending on what kind of shape she’s in. 😜 You know how she is. (If none of this makes sense to you, read down the next post ~ for drawing explanation.) Until then, off I go . . . Let’s see, where’s that recipe . . . Oh yeah . . .
I’ll take lots of pictures today, between setting the table, cutting chives in the garden for the tender little egg salad sandwiches and dipping the perfectly ripe strawberries into melted chocolate. Ahhh, tea parties. How I love thee. Have a wonderful day everyone . . . It’s true, to know you is to love you!
P.S. Just saw this photo, wasn’t Jack the sweetest little kitten? He’s under the bed in the Peter Rabbit room in this photo, on his first day home. All ears and mustache! Intelligence shines out around the eyes, don’t you think? 😘
I hosted a tea party engagement party once, years ago. It was SO MUCH FUN for everyone. I loved making everything look pretty.
I like to have tea parties between Thanksgiving and Christmas. It’s a chance to escape from the running around and to put one’s feet up and visit, and enjoy treats!!
Lady Grey is one of my favorite teas. Hope it stayed dry and your party was lovely. Kitten Jack, oh the delight.
I would love to be entered in the drawing– and I wish we could get some of your rain down here in Florida– have lots of lovely fun!!
Sounds lovely! Your friends are lucky to have you!
Ahhhhh! Tea!!! You’ve inspired me to pull out my grandmother’s teacups and clean them and drink tea! Earl Grey White or Lavender Dreams❤️
Rain, rain go away, come again another day. Rain, rain ……. oh what a wet, wet May. If April showers bring May flowers, what do May showers bring? Lots of happy ducks. Lots of tall hay that will be old before second cut. I’m the granddaughter and wife of farmers. Hurt my back, cow stepped on my foot, do I care? Well normally I would be fretting about mowing lawns and tending the garden but since it’s been so wet I wouldn’t have done much of that so when the back heals and the foot is better the sun will shine and we’ll all make hay. I love tea parties, kitties, and girlfriends to join in the fun. Happy June Susan.
~ Hi~
Who doesn’t love a tea party that ends as “twine”?!
Lynn
I’m having a cup of tea now. Whenever you talk about tea I always think about that photo of Joe “wearing” his teabag…and it makes me giggle.
Jack is SO adorable – look at those paws! And that handsome face design, I can see how you were and remain smitten!
Susan, love reading your posts…especially when they are all about tea and show off handsome Jack! Enjoy your time with your friends. It is great to hear about all of your adventures.
I would love to be added to the drawing for one of your beautiful teacups.
Porcelain makes all the difference in tasting the most deliciousness of the tea!
Wish me luck,
I am a big fan of your creativity and ability to produce art, writing and inspiration.
Happy Spring

I love having tea with my Mother and sharing your blog posts with her.
Oh tea parties. What fun. And it’s one activity we never grow too old to enjoy
June came so quickly! My age must be showing. One minute I’m shoveling snow, then hoping the tulips don’t blossom too soon to miss our 93rd Annual Tulip Time Festival and then, BOOM! June!
I went on Youtube to pull up the Rogers and Hammerstein song, “June is Busting Out All Over” and realized I need to watch the movie again; completely forgot it was set on the New England Coastline.
One of my most favorite things – tea time!
So sweet! <3 Thanks for including us in your wonderful contests. I'm just now reading your book "A Fine Romance"…working backwards from your most recent book. LOVE, LOVE, LOVE them all!
Jack is such a beautiful kitten! Thank you for sharing your photographs, your tea party looks like it will be delightful! And, happy June!
I just finished your Fairy Tale Girl book, and your Martha’s Vineyard came in the mail today. Can’t wait to start reading. You speak for a generation of women – thank you, Susan!
Your teapots are so beautiful. Makes me think back to the early days of our history when our ancestors in their long dresses and caps would have used their teapots on a daily basis. I’ve lately been watching a British house show and the china in these is driving me wild! Such a very homey feeling!
Hi, Susan. It’s Elrica again–still showing up as Rachel. The only thing better than tea? Cats! I love looking at their “baby” pictures. So precious! But so dear when they are all grown up.
Wishing you clear skies and a great time with your girlfriends.
Lots of lovely China !
I’m always excited for a give away and super excited for one of your beautiful mugs! So count me in! Hope your tea party was a hit. Love all your pretty pictures!
Tea and cake! How wonderful!
I held teas at the Assisted Living Facility for all my lady friends! My friend Jean throws the best tea parties.
Susan,
Jack certainly was the cutest kitten !
What a great idea…a tea party for your friend who is moving ! Hope you had a great time and the rain stayed away !
I hope the rain stayed away and that you had a lovely tea party!
Love tea parties. They are the best!
Yum! Chocolate covered strawberries! Hope you have a fun tea party.
Love, love tea parties! And your cups! Looking forward to hearing about your party!💕
I would love to be included in your drawing as love all your beautiful cups. Thanks so much!
Ah ha! Time for tea! I caught up with a girlfriend whom I hadn’t seen for four years today, and we went to the sweetest tea shop on Southsea common for our pots of tea and slices of lemon meringue pie! We walked along the sea front to King Henry the 8th’s Southsea Castle and back and caught up with all the news together. And tomorrow I am taking the hovercraft over to my Isle of Dreams, the Isle of Wight, where I lived before I was married! Happy days in the sunshine, on holiday in England….xxx
Love Tea!!A Hug in a Cup🍮💕
What a lovely send-off. And Jack under the bed is just adorable.
My grandgirls, ages 3 and 5, get excited about having a tea party. Isn’t that what grandgirls are supposed to do?
Absolutely adorable tea cups!! My Mom was a tea drinker all her life and did have real tea parties with her friends. She passed away in April at 95 (!) but drinking tea in pretty cups will always remind me of her! ☕️
Always an inspiration whether it’s rabbits, cats, or tea parties!!! And the Musica…well something that keeps you humming all day long! Thanks for filling my day with wonderful, creative thoughts to share with friends!
Hello Susan! I hope you have a great party! The bunny looks so charming in the yard and little kitten Jack is a gem! I remember when you brought him home.
I now have a kitty as well! My very first kitty that we helped when as a stray she came to us pregnant. She only brought us one of her kittens but I believe the others were also rescued. I raised her black and white kitten, Panda, from week one to her 3 month birthday and then found her a forever home. I bonded with and kept the Maine Coon tabby mama kitty since I found I was no longer allergic to cat (at least not to her) and she got along great with my 5 lb. schnauzer. A match made in heaven! Katniss is a sweetheart and has stolen my heart! Now I am mad about kitties! 🙂
It always happens that way… we are so lucky!!!
Oh I hope you had a beautiful day like we did here in Nj!
I love your cups!!!💐💐💐thank you for sharing your life with us all.
Enjoy your tea party. The dishes you set out are beautiful, I’m sure it will be a nice time. If they weather up there is anything like it is here in MD, you will have a lovely outdoor tea.
ignore the typo 🙂
I love tea! I bought one of your mugs for my mother in law for Mother’s Day, she loves it!!!
Your house and the arbor look so beautiful all lit up in the evening. How fortunate you are to live in such a charming home. Love your sweet mismatched china as well. Thanks for all the joy you bring to your girlfriends.
My best friend just moved South last week. All the way to Charleston! But now I have someone to visit at the beach.
Tea parties are the best! Looking forward to your delicious photos!
I hope the skies were still blue for your tea party this afternoon. It sounds luv-lee, but it’s always hard to say good-bye to a dear friend.
I hope to have many tea parties with my dancing-loving granddaughter, who turns 10 this summer. Can’t wait to spend time with her!
Every time I read your post you take me to a fairy word, I love your blog and I love to read about your trips!! I’ve never been in a tea party! beautiful tea cups!!
Dear Susan, In one of your blogs you showed a kitty castle. Do you know the company it came from? I think my two big guys need one of those. Thanks, Debby
Yum, I am just eating a fresh strawberry as I read this!
Sounds wonderful at your house! 🙂
Such a sweet picture of kitten Jack, we lost our sweet valentine to kidney failure last week. She was only 8yrs old. Our daughter Sophia is heart broken! So tea and tea sandwiches have comforted her while recovering from a concussion!
Nothing could be lovelier than an out door’s tea party. Sure hope the SUN shines on your party 😊
I hope all of you have a wonderful tea party together. You are doing something for your dear friends that they all will remember forever, especially the friend moving away. You give of yourself to all your girlfriends 24/7! The tea cups you designed are so lovely. What a great giveaway gift to some lucky soul!
Happy summertime Susan!
I feel like I have been to a lovely tea party after reading of your preparations.
Lucky guests.
Hi,
Tea parties are fun. Always good when friends gather.
I love your new mugs.
I make a pot of tea every morning and drink it for hours! It’s my own little tea party everyday. A great way to start the day. I even let my husband have a cup. He takes his out to the living room and sits quietly and reads. We’ve done it for years and years and I wouldn’t have it any other way.
I always love pictures of Jack! Quite a character! 🙂
I always love your party descriptions and wish I were an invited guests. thank you for adding that dimension to our lives. Joleen
I recently took all of my tea things and had a tea party with one of my 5 year old students and my 78 year old friend! We had quite the time, my young friend provided shot glasses (her version of tea accessories) which were perfect for our used teabags. My older friend provided the dress up clothes, including hats! And I brought the traditional tea service, which brought a bit of refinement to our silly table. My five year old friend will be having surgery soon (she has already had 38 in her short little life), and I wanted her to know that sometimes, a tea party is the answer when nothing else works. So here’s to tea and tea parties, which always make a difficult day better!
That Jack –should cute 😘 ! Love tea parties Susan -hosted many in the past ! My sweet niece Tawni hosted a lovely one 2014 as a bon voyage for me traveling with RICK STEVE’S to Great Britain 🇬🇧…it was wonderful. You met her in Danville , California last May when we attended your book signing 📚😘.
Thanks for sharing your chocolate dipped strawberry 🍓 🍓🍓recipe .
I know your tea party was fabulous!
Hugs 🤗 Penny
Bet that was a great trip! We always use Rick Steve’s guide books and videos, but I would love to go on one of his actual tours.
That was ” so” cute ……😬
I love the new cups and Jack is so adorable!
Oh to win a mug!!! And how cute is Jack’s baby photo!!!!
Would love to join the tea party!!!
Lovely post Susan. The tea party sounds divine. Egg salad is one of my favorites, but I don’t make it very often. You know why! Will have to try dipping strawberries. Thank you for including me in the drawing.
I’ll be having tea with my college friends next week. Love tea parties. 🙂
(Hope Vanna picks me…)
Love the June Post. I see a different longer one so I’m not sure what the internet is doing. I’m going to try to post my fmsil and name. The last few times someone else’s name keeps appearing. So here goes. I always look forward to every word, make my tea to read it too and savor each thank you. Please enter me in cup drawing if I’m in time.

Happy June, Susan! Hope your tea was a success!
Hope you had a wonderful tea party!
Enjoy your party and beautiful weather. We are also getting plenty of rain down here in Arkansas, but I’m not complaining because our summers usually get hot & dry.
I love tea cups and china so much-and I love these! They are so unique and special. Hope I win one!
How fun – a tea party under the arbor 🙂 Hope the weather cooperates but if not it will still be fun!
Tea parties are the most fun. Hope you had cucumber sandwiches!
An outside tea party in June? How lovely, wishing you some more blue skies!

Hi Susan! Hope you got to enjoy your tea party outside☀️ Jeanne
I love a good tea party with my Grandkids.
My heart melts when I see Jack. He was an adorable kitten who has grown into a most expressive and dear older Kitten xo. I really must have tea with friends more often. Strawberry season is just around the corner.
Tea parties and friends, a perfect combination!
Your house looks enchanting. Lucky ladies, enjoying a tea part under the arbor. And egg salad sandwiches😍
Hoping for sunshine and dryness for you twine.
Enjoy!

Thank you, Susan, if giving us a chance to win one of your beautiful mugs!
Susan, I love the way you look at life. Have enjoyed every blog, every photo and especially every bit of your art work. You brightened alot of my days last year as I had 2 surgeries (1- breast cancer-now ok) and 1 just a polyp. Then this year 4.5 mos. of vertigo. It is so nice to have something beautiful and fun to take my mind off frustrations in the present. When life gets challenging I save your blogs and reread! And I would be thrilled to win one of your beautiful cups!!!Thanks for everything you do that makes life better:) Gail
Oh, Gail–hang in there. I had vertigo some time ago. It arrived unexpectedly, and was such a torment, but it did go away. No one could really predict when it would leave, and it was discouraging, but it did go. I would have felt better if I’d known even one person who could have told me that from personal experience, so I wanted to be sure to tell you–as tough as this is, it won’t last forever. And I’m sorry you’re going through it.
Tea! Just what I need today!
The tea party sounds wonderful!! Hoping you get to have it outside. If not, no matter where, it will be great I’m sure!! It’s been raining a lot here in Michigan too. Although we’ve had two beautiful days in a row!
Save me a chocolate covered strawberry. 🍓+🍫= deliciousness
I loved turning my Susan Branch calendars to the new page of June! How did you ever get that rabbit to pose so perfectly? You were so right about the rain in May. I live in Ohio, and we had tons! Enjoy the last few days of Spring!
What a lovely way to say “hello” to June. Thank you for your wit, wisdom and inspiration to do things with extra flair! I would love to win a teacup to be reminded to live each day full to the brim. Your friend from Colorado.
Hope your party was lovely, Susan.
I have fresh made bread and egg salad – tomorrow I shall have tea for I, Myself, and Me! Thanks so much for reminding us to stop, even for just a few minutes and enjoy the life we’ve been given.
Dear Susan I love your blogs, books, Jack, and artwork! I would love to be entered in the Giveaway of one of your cups. I missed out being able to buy one of your first cups. Thanks for all you do and share about your life! ❤️😻🌹🌼😊🌷
Loved your last post with all the Spring clean up. Boy, did you do a great job!
I hope to do half of what you did. Hope you enjoyed your tea party. It’s gorgeous out when it doesn’t rain! haha
Thanks, Susan, for all your talents………..hope to buy something at Titcomb’s on June 7th. Thanks for being there.
