  1. This looks totally scrumptious. That cream filling sounds amazing.

I look forward to trying it. And thank you, Susan, for sharing!

Thanks for sharing this really neat recipe. I’m excited to try it although I will have to wait because my cheesecake is all ready for Easter. Fairy Cakes could be the base for many variations. My imagination is running wild. So fun! Happy Easter to all:-) MW

I’m not the Pam M. you meant to leave this for, but being a Pam M, I feel it’s only right if I try this recipe anyway. 🙂 Thank you! It looks yum. 🙂

Do you put the top back on the cakes and then sift the powdered sugar on or leave the tops off?

You don’t really take the tops of the cakes off, just partially ~ then pull out the plug, fill, then sprinkle tops with powdered sugar.

Oh my! These sound wonderful! Must make them soon! Reminds me of Paul McCartney’s song “Would care you sit with me, for a cup of English tea….Nanny bakes fairy cakes on a Sunday morning.” Always wondered what Fairy Cakes were! Just perfect! xo

  7. This looks delicious, Susan! Thanks for the recipe.

Have a very Happy & Blessed Easter!

I can’t thank you enough for this recipe. I have googled it and never found what I was looking for. Betty Neels, and author of simple romance stories in England and Holland, mentioned Fairy Cakes in several of her books. I even checked with all my local bakeries and no one had any idea what I was talking about. And here you are, a special girlfriend, who just happens to have the recipe. I’m so happy I could dance on my twinkly toes.

I bought Heart of the Home many years ago. I LOVE THIS RECIPE!!! I have made too many times to count and always perfect!! I lent the book to someone and never got it back. Thank GOD you put this recipe online. I’m on my way to the market to pick up ingredients. I can’t wait to make, bake and share! Love & Blessings
