SPRING FLING GIVEAWAY

HAPPY ST. PATRICK’S DAY EVERYONE!  MUSICA  Good Morning!  I’m thrilled to say there are twenty-seven hundred entries for our Spring Fling Giveaway, wow!  That’s almost shocking!  But don’t worry, you still have a much better chance of bun bunwinning this than you do the lottery! Isn’t that comforting? I woke up this morning to another hundred and fifty new comments ~ so I don’t think we’re done!  I thought I would give it one more day so everyone has a chance to enter and announce the winner TOMORROW, with a new post to show you how I’ve been decorating for spring.  (Remember this is Smallville, don’t get your hopes up too high on the decorations!)

Make a wish

Wishing you the Luck of the Irish and a big pot o’ gold at the end of the rainbow. Don’t forget to wear something Green so you don’t get pinched!

One of our Blog Girlfriends (Lorene) mentioned something interesting in her comment that I thought you all should know: She said the reason they carve an “X” in the top of Irish Soda Bread is to let the fairies out.  Be sure to do that, Girlfriends! Let the fairies fly!

In the meantime I’ll be in my same old spot . . .

art girl

So, until tomorrow . . . an Irish Blessing and a wee bi’ o’ the sampling’ for ye . . . w’ love from Paddy McSue.

Which means (I’m guessing) if you are going thru some “ungreenish stuff” in your life and need a little luck, to look for the rainbow, bake some Irish Soda Bread with an X for the fae and try to find a blarney stone to kiss. All will be good soon.

LOVE that little girl in the green dress painting. Remembering today my three closest cousins who were Irish boys. Their Dad, my Uncle Bob Smyth, came from Ireland landing with $75 in his pocket early in the 1900’s to seek his fortune and marry my Mom’s sister. Two are gone now, but remain fondly in my memory. Just a smidgen of Irish heritage meself allows a bit of authentic celebration — What a fun day it tis 🙂 Here’s to the good Saint Patrick, who through strategy and stealth . . . Drove all the snakes from Ireland . . . etc.

  40. Fran Vella says:

  46. shirley burt says:

The darling painting of a darling little girl that we love so much, made me smile.
My niece, Heather and my dearest friend, Drinda both celebrate birthdays today. Imagine. Oh Susan, I lamented about the fact we had not had any snow in the Fort Worth, Texas area, well, my friends got mad at me, because we had ice, sleet and snow, and unlike the past it lasted several weeks. That is absolutely unheard of or at least a rarity here. So girlfriends, remember, be careful what you wish for, it just might come true.
Much love and bunny hugs, and wishes for a touch or two of green to behold,
    Shirley from Aledo

Did I miss anything???? This is a Grandmother’s job these days!! She laughed!! Hoping I can see more of the sun today and go to the country to gaze at wild flowers. 81. SusanA says:

I love this Maud Tousey Fangel painting. The girl looks like you, and at first, I thought you had painted her. An easy mistake to make, I think, since your paintings are every bit as wonderful and charming! I wish you would do a few tutorials, or even a whole how-to book, sometime! I just love your work. 🙂

  84. Cindy K. Beranek from PA says:

Dear Susan, HI and Happy St. Patrick’s Day!!!Are you tossing JACK GREEN BANDS today? I just LOVE the picture of you painting!!! SO MUCH DEEP COLOR & DETAIL!!! Your art on each post just gets more BEAUTIFUL & PRETTY with each new picture that you share with us!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I bought your AUTUM BOOK!!! It’s absolutely beautiful with color & yummy recipes!!! I have a question about the CREAM SCONES recipe on Page 109. There is no BUTTER listed, is this correct? Will it work with just HEAVY CREAM? I would like to make them, but the no BUTTER holds me back… I also bought WHITE LILY SELF RISING FLOUR. It’s a Southern favorite used for biscuits. Do you think it would work with your SCONE recipe, and should I add the BAKING POWDER full amount ? What are your thoughts? Sorry, I know you are very busy!!!!!!!!!!!!! BYEEEEEE AND HAPPY PAINTING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
