Good Morning Everyone! Just a quickie from me and Casper (the very friendly ghost)👻, waving from our upstairs bedroom window…this is a very short update, but I still have a song for you! A very sweet one, my Grandma’s favorite, and mine too, the video is as nice as the MUSICA!🎵 I’ve posted this song before, but since I can’t get enough, I don’t mind doing it again…👏I will be back next week along with Vanna to pull the winning names for our giveaway for the handmade quilt and the vintage storybook (see the next post if you missed it). You can still sign up, just leave a comment on either of these two posts and you’ll be entered! I know you’re waiting but I’m working on a slide show for my two ZOOM Events this Sunday and next, and I’m not done yet! I’ll be coming to you from my kitchen table! (I never know if there will be an appearance from a special guest star! They are both so UNpredictable!) I hope you’re able to join us, but if not . . . there will be MORE! Click on the link above for details on how to join the party ♥️. I know they’re asking that everyone buy a book, which is NOT my idea, although I totally understand why they have to do it, this world being what it is … but if you need a Christmas gift, you might think about it because the slide show is going to be all about this old house and some of our holiday traditions and I know it’s your cup of tea.💞 Unfortunately, this won’t work for our girlfriends from other countries, shipping costs being what they are. I’m so sorry, I’m only a guest of the bookstores, I have to do things the way they want to! I have never set up a Zoom talk of my own, one of these days I will need to learn how!!! What do you think? Good winter project!!Okay, must get back to it! Thank you for your patience . . . See you soon. Oh and PS, Kellee and I have been working on another little surprise. So nice to have things to look forward to! Always good news around here! Until then, thank you for all your luv-lee comments! Enjoy your days and do this ⬇️!🎃

Your posts are very uplifting!
Thank you, Susan for taking my mind off Covid for a bit. Loved the Musica with all time wonderful Andy Williams and the Osmonds. Just so soothing. Hope you and Joe are well. Thanks again for bringing sunshine to this day.
I stumbled across your website and blog in tears this quiet fall morning Susan. I “found” my brush at 46. You will never know how inspirational this corner of space you have created is to me! What is it about us that we question our creativity when we age? Why do we do that?? It’s always been sitting on my shelf within. I finally walked into the craft store with my 40% off coupon and bought my brushes! Yay! Here it goes! 🙂 …and would LOVE to add the quilt and book to my new space for inspiration on this new journey 💛
Happy Halloween!!
Fingers crossed! Good luck everyone! 🎃
So love these updates ♥️
Loved your quickie post, Susan! And, I especially loved the Lida Rose performance by Andy Williams and the Osmond Brothers (with little Marie). Super sweet! Brought back some nice memories of the good old days.
P.S. I would be so excited to win the quilt!
What a great little quickie! Would love the quilt and/or the book! Looking forward to the zoom presentations!
Love your cute ghost in the window <3
As always love to hear from u!!
Jack is just ADORABLE!
Yay! Keeping the tradition alive. I was wondering where he was. Was I the only one who asked? Happy to see him in his spot. Now I have to try and figure out this zoom thing. I’m realizing that I am the only person in the whole wide world that doesn’t have it. I just asked my hubby where it is on the bar and he just rolled his eyes and said to me with a twinkle in his eye “have you downloaded it yet?” My answer “where is the button for downloading?” His answer “oh boy”
Thanks Susan for this Casper post and a break from the madness. I wonder if we are related? My husband’s Orr brothers came from Scotland to Quebec? He thought there was a cousin in California. Still have relatives in Quebec, I think his California relative died. I bought your Home for Christmas book, actually 3 more for friends and my sister after reading it. My Christmases were in Connecticut as a child, and we had the oranges in our stockings with nuts with the shells on. Actually, you made happy tears on my face with your book. Christmases were always a fog as the hour was too early even after we had our own children! Amazing how life repeats.
My Vermont sister sent me A Fine Romance for my birthday and I have been reading it with my 9 year old granddaughter! We both love it and have each been inspired by you in our own way. I am reading every other book you ever mentioned and making fall crafts and decorating and cooking while she is writing and drawing pictures in her journal every day and planning a trip to the UK for us.
Thank you!!
What a wonderful window decoration! Hoping for some good news from Vanna!
Love hearing from you and love the new Christmas book!
Happy Fall, Susan! It’s our favorite time of year 🍂🍁❤️ Excited for your upcoming zoom!
Love both of your UNpredictable friends. Happy Fall!
Hi Susan, I just found a video channel on you tube that I’ve been so enjoying and I bet you would too. It’s Kristen & Joerg .Its a couple that live in the UK and moved there from Germany. They go to places all over England and film it .It gives you all kinds of ideas for places you might want to go. She’s kind of eccentric in a good way. I can’t stop watching the videos and thought of you .
Thanks, Susan. We love even the “quickie” blog posts!
Hi Susan, it’s 39° this morning in WI and the thought of winning a quilt and a great book to cuddle up with is warming my heart already. Thanks for the opportunity.
Hi from Wisconsin. I’d like my name entered for the drawing . Thank you i enjoy your artwork.
Your posts are food for the soul! Thank you!
Thank you for your quick update about the Zoom videos and your current plans for new exciting adventures with us!! Loved the Casper in the window of your lovely home and the “Musica”. Having a virtual Halloween is going to be interesting. I have heard of lots of fun ways families are trying to make the day fun for their children in creative structures in their yards, decorations that can be enjoyed as a drive by and ways to distribute candy to their goody bags.
I love your blogs. I feel like it’s another visit to Martha’s Vineyard. I love it there.
I would love so much to win the quilt. I love the thongs you bless us with.
Happy Fall Susan.
Paula
Thanks for the update. You can figure out Zoom meetings! That would be a total bright spot!
These quick notes are just as appreciated as your longer ones:) I always smile when I see a Susan Branch blog in my inbox~

I love the blog! The upstairs window is just too cute with the ghost! And, that’s a great picture of your husband, he looks French in his beret! Always enjoy reading your news! Thank you so much! ❤️
Susan happy to hear from you again hope you are enjoying the fall and looking forward to winter. So much to do so little time to do it! Take care. Laurel
I just love your posts, quickie or not. I hope I’m not too late for a sign up to the give away.☺️
Love Casper in the window!

Your posts are like a vitamin-shot in the arm and a dash of hope to the heart.
Thanks, Susan! Also, my girl-friend and I ordered your puzzle for each other’s birthdays and we cannot wait to receive them!! We’re going to do them together across the miles!
Thank you for your cheerful hello! Beautiful fall day here in Utah & our smoky skies have cleared! Hooray! All of our fruit & vegetables are harvested & the apples are now applesauce & pie filling & the plums are plum jam & italian plums pitted halved & frozen & ready to go into smoothies this winter. Also veggies blanched & in the freezer! Still grape juice to do! Whew! We are always so grateful for it all in the winter months. Take care, hugs to you, Joe & Jack! Stay safe everyone!
Keep up the good work Susan!! You bring blog posts are a bright spot in the day for us all!! :}
Perfect Musica! My niece Virginia Rose 🌹 just became engaged. Will share this, one of your and your grandmother’s favorite songs, with her. 💍 Now she has special ring to place over her future birthday candles. 🎂
Fun to see what you post! Always a lot to look at and even listen to… Osmonds! Best wishes to all Carole
Would love to win
I just signed up to buy your new Christmas book and attend the Zoom conference! Thanks for the chance to win the quilt!
Sending out the cute Jack-o’-lantern vote postcards you made as a friendly reminder to friends and family. 🇺🇸
Gloving and masking up as we put candy bars in individual Ziploc bags. We’ll hang them with clothes pins on the branches of a tree by the road. The, we’ll enjoy sitting on the front porch watching the kids come by, if there are any this year! 🎃
You make our hearts sing!
Your “Casper” window. How wonderful 😊
Thank you for you lovely Christmas book. Enjoyed it so much and have also sent some as early Christmas gifts to family members. Lots of memories.
Jacks face looking at the friendly spider is precious!!! 😊
Thank you for the update ! Love Casper…I have ceramic light up ghost similar to Casper. My dear Aunt Mamie made it when she started ceramic classes in her 90’s !!! Love it…she made one for most of the family and each year we love to get out “Aunt Mamie’s Ghost”! Looking forward to the Zoom…have a great weekend!
Short is ok. It’s raining, cold and grey. So this is a spot of sunshine 🌞 Thanks
Omgoodness! The happy combo of my two favorite things! Cats (#1) and quilts! (#2)…..I really, really, really, REALLY wanna win! TY!
Susan…thank you for all of your inspiration. You make things seem normal somehow…
Hi Susan:
I sooo look forward to your blogs and inspiring stories. Grew up listening to Andy Williams and so many other artists from his timeFingers, toes & even my eyes that I’ll be the LUCKY winner 🤗🏆 You gotta have faith & be in it to WIN IT!
Take care, safe and healthy, Andrea J
Just to let you know I am seeing your comments Andrea! In it to win it! xoxo
Susan: I would love to win the quilt. I use quilts on my eating table and I love them – so country! I live in the mountains in San Luis Obispo County, Ca. I met you years ago with my daughter at your book signing in Cambria, Ca. I forgot to bring a camera to have a picture of my daughter and you, but the lady in front of us said she would take a picture and send it to me. When her note and picture arrived, I shared it with my husband and he said his sister’s husband and her husband are best of friends and went thru Kindergarten and graduated from Fullerton HS together years ago! I called my father-in-law and sure enough it was true. A story of the book signing I will never forget and a new friendship!
Always smile when I see your messages in my inbox! Sunshine on a cloudy day in Washington!
I love your Blog and look forward to your sweet, cozy updates as well as the photos that you so thoughtfully post. Thank you for a bright spot in this dreadful pandemic. Two of my family members have Covid! They are, thankfully, not hospitalized at this time.
I love the real world escape that you provide, Susan! 🍁🍎💙🇺🇸
So nice and cozy to get a short note and to hear what you’ve been doing.
Thanks for a great post and the chance to win! I love quilts.
Happy Autumn in New England! 🍁
Thank you for a great post and a chance to win. I love quilts!
Love the ghost in the window 👻
Your blog is peace & enjoyment in this chaotic time. It amazes me that you never run out of ideas!
Thank you for another give away! The quilt is beautiful! The vintage book is so sweet and cute! I love reading old stories from days gone by! JOYFUL AUTUMN!
Always happy to enter a drawing!!
I am looking forward to your zoom presentation, a perfect time to buy your book!
Hi Susan, your boys are just adorable together! I think Jack is just fascinated by that Halloween spider – just trying to make a new friend!
I love the music 🎶 suggestion on such a beautiful fall day in CT sitting in the sun outside reading your post (a wonderful surprise). 🎃 I am reflecting on how Grateful I am that my Mom continues her quilting even now as she is 91 (what an inspiration) ❤️. Quilts as well as other handcrafts and cooking are made with the heart and hands to be shared. They become some of our most precious memories! Thank you for all you do to remind us of all the many blessings (even the smallest ones) that we have in our lives to enjoy each day! 🙏🏻
I’m looking forward to your zoom presentation, a perfect time to buy your book.
I so look forward to your little emails and posts. They always brighten my days!
I 🧡👻🎃
Such a sweet way to start the morning….thanks
you did such a lovely giveaway!
your boys are so cute!
good luck with your zoom!
Love reading your blog each time they come along….enjoying this lovely fall windy day !
Casper,Lida Rose,Jack 🥰
Good afternoon! How lovely – two posts to enjoy today! One thing about every day seeming like the other is that I forget to check for treats like your blogs! Love your Twitter comments and re-posts, too…they are helping to get me through these difficult times. We are in CT so hunkering down to get through to Thanksgiving when our two grown daughters will be home for a month or more! Some silver linings to the dam panic.
Hoping you and yours are keeping healthy and continuing to have some fun!
I so enjoyed your Christmas book event sponsored by the Titcomb bookshop. I was so touched by your remembrance of the sacrifices and preserverance of our parents’ generation. My mom was a “can do” woman as well. And they did it all being grateful for whatever they had. Many grateful thanks.
Great to hear from you anytime. A quick note is better than no note!!! Loved Jack looking at the spider. Wonder if he jumped at it? And loved the pic of Joe with his beret.
p.s. – My book “Home for Christmas” arrived. Looking forward to reading it. But must read “Where the Crawdads Sing” first for my book club.
Cheers to all and Friendly Casper. Sharon
Hi,
I really enjoy seeing your sweet Jack. He is just adorable! It’s a tough time we are living in right now. I try not to get sad knowing that we won’t be spending Thanksgiving or Christmas with our 3 daughters and our 2 grandsons. It’s a great thing that we have FaceTime. I pray that this will all be over soon and that we can have a “normal” life again.
Stay safe out there.
Hugs from Texas,
Diane M.
This is so wonderful!
Thank you for always helping all of us get into the holiday mood and be enthusiastic about it.
I always look forward to reading your posts. I am freshening up some of my window treatments (my house is similar to yours in age and wallpaper – isn’t it interesting that it’s coming back some) and I will say to my self “what would Susan do?”
Need to order to Christmas book and calendar. Hope that gets used better than this years. So pick me Vanna!
Thanks for your dab of cheer!
Dear Susan,
Thank you for all you do. I love your books and your blogs specially this quickie one, so fun. Living by myself I feel like a friend came for a visit when I read your Blog.
Loved your Christmas book and enjoyed the zoom you did from Titcombs book store. You sure brightened my day. First zoom for me.
Stay safe
Love
This delightful quickie was such a treat after a challenging week or two!
Hi Susan,
Thanks for the quickie ! You always inspire me.
I love Jack’s face looking at the spider!
There was a smile on my face as I saw your email in the inbox!
Thx! You are inspirational and encouraging in these ( and any! ) days!
Ginny from SoCal
PS just last week we visited some of the places in your book about SLO, wonderful!
Susan,
I continue to love and share your Blogs and I hope to join you tomorrow on Zoom if all goes well!
Good luck with your Zoom slide show. Can’t wait!
Judy
Love Casper! Not too scary! Got your Christmas book last week and sat right down and devoured it! So sweet! I wanna win!!!
I live vicariously through your art and life. I identify with you and have been a passionate follower for as long as I can remember, and I am 74. I have every calendar you have ever designed and I hang them year after year in my studio each with a different month. Material, books, albums, jewelry, cups oh my its overwhelming. I love to be in your art and in your mind. Thank you for all the fabulous recipes, season by season and otherwise. They have held up all these years. May you stay healthy, purposeful, sympathetic, loved and productive. Thank you from my inside to my outside.
XOXO Thank you back, Terry!
BOO! Happy Halloween!
Hi Susan, I love your art, lifestyle and blog! You speak to my soul! Thank you for bringing love and joy and beauty to the world! Safe Hugs!! Debbie 🙂
Loved Andy Williams. He had a grea t show. From one of my favourite songs….”Hey little girl, comb your hair, fix your makeup. Soon he’ll be through that door.”
Love your posts. Always a fun read.
I like Casper so much. Brings up soooo many memories. Like Casper in the window lighted.
Love the Lida Rose song Andy Williams and the Osmonds sang. That was from Music Man, our school musical when I was a sophomore–I was in the chorus.
Thanks for the memory.
I am new to your blog. It was shared with my by a co-worker/friend. I greatly enjoyed the pics of your travels, light-hearted tales and whimsy. Just what is needed in these turbulent times. God bless and keep writing!
Thank you for creating such a lovely little niche on the Internet. It’s one of my favorite comfy spots to come visit and is desperately needed in a time like this.
