JUST a QUICKIE . . .

Good Morning Everyone! Just a quickie from me and Casper (the very friendly ghost)👻, waving from our upstairs bedroom window…this is a very short update, but I still have a song for you! A very sweet one, my Grandma’s favorite, and mine too, the video is as nice as the MUSICA!🎵 I’ve posted this song before, but since I can’t get enough, I don’t mind doing it again…👏I will be back next week along with Vanna to pull the winning names for our giveaway for the handmade quilt and the vintage storybook (see the next post if you missed it). You can still sign up, just leave a comment on either of these two posts and you’ll be entered! I know you’re waiting but I’m working on a slide show for my two ZOOM Events this Sunday and next, and I’m not done yet! I’ll be coming to you from my kitchen table! (I never know if there will be an appearance from a special guest star! They are both so UNpredictable!) I hope you’re able to join us, but if not . . . there will be MORE! Click on the link above for details on how to join the party ♥️. I know they’re asking that everyone buy a book, which is NOT my idea, although I totally understand why they have to do it, this world being what it is … but if you need a Christmas gift, you might think about it because the slide show is going to be all about this old house and some of our holiday traditions and I know it’s your cup of tea.💞 Unfortunately, this won’t work for our girlfriends from other countries, shipping costs being what they are. I’m so sorry, I’m only a guest of the bookstores, I have to do things the way they want to! I have never set up a Zoom talk of my own, one of these days I will need to learn how!!! What do you think? Good winter project!!Okay, must get back to it! Thank you for your patience . . . See you soon. Oh and PS, Kellee and I have been working on another little surprise. So nice to have things to look forward to! Always good news around here! Until then, thank you for all your luv-lee comments! Enjoy your days and do this ⬇️!🎃

Thank you, Susan for taking my mind off Covid for a bit. Loved the Musica with all time wonderful Andy Williams and the Osmonds. Just so soothing. Hope you and Joe are well. Thanks again for bringing sunshine to this day.

  3. Jenny Royer says:

I stumbled across your website and blog in tears this quiet fall morning Susan. I “found” my brush at 46. You will never know how inspirational this corner of space you have created is to me! What is it about us that we question our creativity when we age? Why do we do that?? It’s always been sitting on my shelf within. I finally walked into the craft store with my 40% off coupon and bought my brushes! Yay! Here it goes! 🙂 …and would LOVE to add the quilt and book to my new space for inspiration on this new journey 💛

  4. Kathy says:

    Happy Halloween!!

  5. Helen Edwards says:

Fingers crossed! Good luck everyone! 🎃

Loved your quickie post, Susan! And, I especially loved the Lida Rose performance by Andy Williams and the Osmond Brothers (with little Marie). Super sweet! Brought back some nice memories of the good old days.

P.S. I would be so excited to win the quilt!

  12. rhea says:

Yay! Keeping the tradition alive. I was wondering where he was. Was I the only one who asked? Happy to see him in his spot. Now I have to try and figure out this zoom thing. I’m realizing that I am the only person in the whole wide world that doesn’t have it. I just asked my hubby where it is on the bar and he just rolled his eyes and said to me with a twinkle in his eye “have you downloaded it yet?” My answer “where is the button for downloading?” His answer “oh boy”

  13. Margie Orr says:

Thanks Susan for this Casper post and a break from the madness. I wonder if we are related? My husband’s Orr brothers came from Scotland to Quebec? He thought there was a cousin in California. Still have relatives in Quebec, I think his California relative died. I bought your Home for Christmas book, actually 3 more for friends and my sister after reading it. My Christmases were in Connecticut as a child, and we had the oranges in our stockings with nuts with the shells on. Actually, you made happy tears on my face with your book. Christmases were always a fog as the hour was too early even after we had our own children! Amazing how life repeats.

  14. anne wyman says:

My Vermont sister sent me A Fine Romance for my birthday and I have been reading it with my 9 year old granddaughter! We both love it and have each been inspired by you in our own way. I am reading every other book you ever mentioned and making fall crafts and decorating and cooking while she is writing and drawing pictures in her journal every day and planning a trip to the UK for us.
    Thank you!!

  15. Kristen Shaw says:

What a wonderful window decoration! Hoping for some good news from Vanna!

Love both of your UNpredictable friends. Happy Fall!

  19. Sandi says:

Hi Susan, I just found a video channel on you tube that I’ve been so enjoying and I bet you would too. It’s Kristen & Joerg .Its a couple that live in the UK and moved there from Germany. They go to places all over England and film it .It gives you all kinds of ideas for places you might want to go. She’s kind of eccentric in a good way. I can’t stop watching the videos and thought of you .

  20. Kathleen S Williams says:

Thanks, Susan. We love even the “quickie” blog posts!

  56. Gail Davis says:

Susan: I would love to win the quilt. I use quilts on my eating table and I love them – so country! I live in the mountains in San Luis Obispo County, Ca. I met you years ago with my daughter at your book signing in Cambria, Ca. I forgot to bring a camera to have a picture of my daughter and you, but the lady in front of us said she would take a picture and send it to me. When her note and picture arrived, I shared it with my husband and he said his sister’s husband and her husband are best of friends and went thru Kindergarten and graduated from Fullerton HS together years ago! I called my father-in-law and sure enough it was true. A story of the book signing I will never forget and a new friendship!

I so enjoyed your Christmas book event sponsored by the Titcomb bookshop. I was so touched by your remembrance of the sacrifices and preserverance of our parents’ generation. My mom was a “can do” woman as well. And they did it all being grateful for whatever they had. Many grateful thanks.

Cheers to all and Friendly Casper. Sharon

  80. Diane McGahey says:

    Hi,
I really enjoy seeing your sweet Jack. He is just adorable! It’s a tough time we are living in right now. I try not to get sad knowing that we won’t be spending Thanksgiving or Christmas with our 3 daughters and our 2 grandsons. It’s a great thing that we have FaceTime. I pray that this will all be over soon and that we can have a “normal” life again.
    Stay safe out there.
    Hugs from Texas,
    Diane M.
