Blessing blessings

We’ll be celebrating Thanksgiving tonight on board the Queen Mary 2, out here in the wild North Sea, feeling very grateful! It’s been really hard to get anything up here on the blog, but for some reason, Twitter seems to be okay! I’m sure you’re too busy today to care . . . but I wanted to send Thanksgiving blessings to one and all.  SO excited, we arrive in New York …

 New York Harbor

On Saturday . . . then it’s home sweet home.  Wishing you all a wonderful Turkey Day!  Thank you for being you. 💖

    Happy Thanksgiving, Susan and Joe!

I want to let you know how much I appreciate your work. My sister and I discovered it when she moved to Albany for her first real job. Her boss was a great mentor. She gave my sister Vineyard Seasons for a present. I had never seen anything like it. I loved art class in high school and especially water colors. Looking at your work was truly like seeing a kindred spirit.

Soon after that your Summer Book came out. I bought a copy and every summer there after I have ushered in the season by reading through the whole book. Things got even better when the Autumn Book came out and I could have the same tradition in fall.

Your work also inspired me to make a family recipe/photo book celebrating all of my granmother’s recipes. She was a wonderful cook and it was a great present for her and for the rest of us to celebrate her life.

I love your blog. Thank you for writing it. You are appreciated.

  82. Karen Larsen says:

I have never left a comment before but always sent one in my heart. Our family is celebrating in DC while we investigate colleges with our granddaughter. We feel as if we are rolling on the ship of state here in our beautiful capitol; everyone we talked with is nauseated with fear and anger.
I appreciated your piece about the outcome of the election. It helped many of us feel connected as you clearly articulated what we feel.
We get home on Saturday also, from DC to Minnesota, a blue state. Then I will pull out your Christmas book to jump start the joy. About 27 years ago I was given “The Heart of the Home” to cheer me up during a medical issue and I have given and owned all of your books since then.
This is by way of saying that I am thankful for you, your gift of talent and especially your spirit.
Traveling mercies to all of us. Karen Larsen

    • sbranch says:

You are very sweet Karen. I’m thrilled to see Trump is busy breaking his campaign promises, and I can’t tell you how happy that makes me! Perhaps it was all usury just to get elected. After all, he’s always been a Democrat, so it just might not be what we think. Prayers. Deep breaths, and joy to the world. xoxo
