JUST a QUICKIE . . .

Good Morning Everyone! Just a quickie from me and Casper (the very friendly ghost)👻, waving from our upstairs bedroom window…this is a very short update, but I still have a song for you! A very sweet one, my Grandma’s favorite, and mine too, the video is as nice as the MUSICA!🎵 I’ve posted this song before, but since I can’t get enough, I don’t mind doing it again…👏I will be back next week along with Vanna to pull the winning names for our giveaway for the handmade quilt and the vintage storybook (see the next post if you missed it). You can still sign up, just leave a comment on either of these two posts and you’ll be entered! I know you’re waiting but I’m working on a slide show for my two ZOOM Events this Sunday and next, and I’m not done yet! I’ll be coming to you from my kitchen table! (I never know if there will be an appearance from a special guest star! They are both so UNpredictable!) I hope you’re able to join us, but if not . . . there will be MORE! Click on the link above for details on how to join the party ♥️. I know they’re asking that everyone buy a book, which is NOT my idea, although I totally understand why they have to do it, this world being what it is … but if you need a Christmas gift, you might think about it because the slide show is going to be all about this old house and some of our holiday traditions and I know it’s your cup of tea.💞 Unfortunately, this won’t work for our girlfriends from other countries, shipping costs being what they are. I’m so sorry, I’m only a guest of the bookstores, I have to do things the way they want to! I have never set up a Zoom talk of my own, one of these days I will need to learn how!!! What do you think? Good winter project!!Okay, must get back to it! Thank you for your patience . . . See you soon. Oh and PS, Kellee and I have been working on another little surprise. So nice to have things to look forward to! Always good news around here! Until then, thank you for all your luv-lee comments! Enjoy your days and do this ⬇️!🎃

  3. Carolyn Wilson says:

Dear Susan, Good things about 2020 in lovelee Hendersonville. North Carolina: lovelee cool fall weather, vibrant leaves to make us gasp with the beauty of vistas along the Blue Ridge Parkway and all-around town, gratefully enjoying being safe with our homemade masks, steady work for our community action agency for me and my daughter, and last but not least the love and companionship of our cat and 2 dogs! So grateful and blessed! Susan thank you for your kind replies to my posts. I so appreciate your kindness and beautiful spirit. My knitting, also, is limited to scarves – and I make pretty hats with my circular knitter. Fun and relaxing. I’m having such fun crafting Christmas presents for family and friends. So it’s all secrets kept in love and joy until the big day! You’re my inspiration, Susan, and I thank you!

  4. DianeFromHawai’i says:

Aloha SBranch, your stories really are bright spots during these eight(!) months of social distancing and mask wearing. Halloween time will be very different this year with no traditional neighborhood trick or treating, but for those who will, I think everyone should dress up like nurses, doctors, first responders this year! Thank you for your cheery, twinkly lights-like happy notes that help up pierce the gloom!

  5. Judy H. says:

Just wanted to say that your Christmas book is lovely. It’s right here next to me for a re-read.

Isn’t fall marvelous! Gone with the humidity- welcome crisp air and blue skies. A time to find comforters and all things cozy.) Especially cozy! A kitty cat on your lap is an added delight. I wish you a exceptional fall.

  33. Deb in Wales says:

As you say, dear Susan, and I know it’s not your doing, but the condition of buying a book to gain attendance will exclude overseas Girlfriends, and these events were to be my birthday present to me, as it’s going to be a very peculiar and lonely birthday this year. No special day with my Godmother {whom I haven’t seen since February} no lunches out, no coffee and cake with friends, no visitors, and quite possibly diddly squat as Wales may be back in a “circuit breaker” lockdown by next week. Just me on my lonesome. I already have my book, anyway, which I am saving until my birthday to read, but it would have been luverlee to have some virtual company too.

    Waving~~~from Across the Pond~~~Deb in {lockdown again} Wales xoxo

    • sbranch says:

I know Deb. It’s not my choice. But Kellee and I started talking about doing our own, and we will, I promise! No shipping charges! Plan things. You need a big bowl of buttered birthday popcorn, and an old movie, and perhaps a storm, and a book, like Enchanted April. Then a nap. Love you dear. Happy Birthday!

      • Deb in Wales says:

Thank you for the sweet birthday wishes. Shall I let you in on a secret? Shhhhh. Don’t tell. After buying your book, I bought another birthday present from me too me. A huge treat, and if it wasn’t for the strange times in which we live I might not have done so, but a girl’s got to do what a girl’s got to do, right? I think you will approve.

I bought me an Hotel Chocolat Velvetiser in a bright copper finish for my kitchen and for my spirit. I will be sipping on the most unbelievably mouth-wateringly indulgent whipped hot chocolate this side of Paris, made right here, in my own kitchen as I watch a pile of favourite movies. I’ve also got a tidy pile of old Victoria magazines too, from way back in the day.

        Deb in Wales xoxo

    • Truus says:

Happy Birthday to you in Wales!!!
Hope you will get a lot of Birthday cards and phonecalls.
Sending you a big hug from the Netherlands also in lockdown on my own 💝🌟🌹👼🙏🎂🥂

A quickie hello is a wonderful hello, from you! Love the photo of Joe with Jack and also your autumnal illustrations which I crave because, of course, in SoCalif we don’t really have ‘Fall’ except for a hot, dry October with the Santa Ana winds, but I can dream of what others are enjoying across America with colder days, wearing sweaters, and maybe even RAIN and indeed the falling leaves of orange, red, yellow and brown.

Hello Susan, and Girlfriends, Good afternoon. been out in the barn yard checking on the hens, collecting eggs and filling up the water containers and the ducks’ swimming pool. i have to ask but what did Jack do to his multi-legged visitor??? looks like he is ready to attack it. we had a spider for Halloween here, but our 2 gremlins got hold of him and he is now a 3-legged spider… LOL!!! guess i have to try and give him 5 legs back… how does one fix a spider, anyone know????? well i have to get out and mulch the leaves, sweep off the porch (again), and water some of the porch plants. busy day ahead of me. and before i forget, our local fire, the Slater fire is now 80% contained, the rain last weekend really helped the fire fighters out. well some lunch and back to work… have a great day today, stay well and stay safe and happy!!! hugs… 😀

    • Debby Rickett says:

  98. Peggy Willoughby says:

Sad!y, I will not be joining you on this week’s webinar. 😕 I have the book, know of no one in my immediate circle who would enjoy it like I did, and the cost is just too high. Perhaps when you learn how to do a zoom one independently you can do this slide show for us again. I wrote to the bookstore to tell them of my displeasure, nicely, and suggested a nominal price that most would happily pay. They never responded.
If you do your own webinars I would absolutely pay an affordable fee or we could donate to one of your local charities. I am going to miss you in your kitchen. 😥
I am looking forward to your surprise. Tell me! Tell me!
    Love you tons, Susan.

  99. Valerie Cano says:

Thank you for chatting with us!! It’s always nice to hear from you!! I don’t know how to set up a Zoom meeting and hardly know how to join a meeting! Lol! See you Sunday🌺

  100. Carol says:

I have loved your books and Willards since I first saw Heart of The Home from The Vineyard, your autumn book. I have all your books and the recipes and stories are great!
