Good Morning Everyone! Just a quickie from me and Casper (the very friendly ghost)👻, waving from our upstairs bedroom window…this is a very short update, but I still have a song for you! A very sweet one, my Grandma’s favorite, and mine too, the video is as nice as the MUSICA!🎵 I’ve posted this song before, but since I can’t get enough, I don’t mind doing it again…👏I will be back next week along with Vanna to pull the winning names for our giveaway for the handmade quilt and the vintage storybook (see the next post if you missed it). You can still sign up, just leave a comment on either of these two posts and you’ll be entered! I know you’re waiting but I’m working on a slide show for my two ZOOM Events this Sunday and next, and I’m not done yet! I’ll be coming to you from my kitchen table! (I never know if there will be an appearance from a special guest star! They are both so UNpredictable!) I hope you’re able to join us, but if not . . . there will be MORE! Click on the link above for details on how to join the party ♥️. I know they’re asking that everyone buy a book, which is NOT my idea, although I totally understand why they have to do it, this world being what it is … but if you need a Christmas gift, you might think about it because the slide show is going to be all about this old house and some of our holiday traditions and I know it’s your cup of tea.💞 Unfortunately, this won’t work for our girlfriends from other countries, shipping costs being what they are. I’m so sorry, I’m only a guest of the bookstores, I have to do things the way they want to! I have never set up a Zoom talk of my own, one of these days I will need to learn how!!! What do you think? Good winter project!!Okay, must get back to it! Thank you for your patience . . . See you soon. Oh and PS, Kellee and I have been working on another little surprise. So nice to have things to look forward to! Always good news around here! Until then, thank you for all your luv-lee comments! Enjoy your days and do this ⬇️!🎃

Ooh Casper Pick me! So exciting.
I love reading all of your blogs. They are such a wonderful pick me up especially during this time. I also love reading your books. I have them all and have reread them a couple of times. I have a few of your cookbooks, too. Take care and thanks for all you do for us girlfriends.
Howdy Susan!
That was the best quickie ever! HA! Like a fun email from my little sis! They are our favorites! Even Jack made a quickie appearance! Have a happy day!
Such a nice surprise on a boring Friday. Way to start the weekend! Thanks Susan
Your Christmas book is just what I need — thanks for the reminder. I’ve been trying not to fret too much about the total shakeup of our Thanksgiving and Christmas traditions this year, with grandchildren back in school (maybe) and my husband and I in our 70s … “Christmas at Nana’s” is a big family event normally. Not this year! It’s all getting very wearing, isn’t it. We need little bright spots, like this post of yours. Thanks!!
Very wearing Karen. But we’re all in it together, we have to help keep each other’s sunny sides up. xoxoxo
Exactly right Susan. Your newsletters always brighten my day!
I’m having a very hard time with the same thing, Karen! So sad.
As always, reading your blogs are a bright spot in our every-day’s-the-same world. It’s such a pleasant change to read something that’s positive and unpolitical.
Your letters always delight my heart!
When life is on the downside you bring sunshine!
If you get a chance listen to “Step into the sunshine” by Evie…..I think you will love it!
Hi Susan,
Thank you for today’s quickie post. Your happy messages always make me feel so much better even if I don’t get a chance to comment. You are always so positive and fun. Some of the news reports and programs are not what I like to listen to. They are really tough on my spirit.
I especially like the final quote you used: “If you can dream it; You can make it So.” It’s perfect!
Hi Janet,
Like a well known Spiritual Teacher Dr Wayne Dyer once said…With the News Reports…. you do have an option …it’s called the “Off Switch”. Personally I don’t wish to have these negative energies in my daily life. So I look for the good and the Peace in each and everyday….
Patty Walker
What a treat to have your blog to look forward to! Thank you for sharing everyday life with such joy!
Thank you for your wonderful art especially during these trying times! Thank you!!!
Susan, you’re just a breath of fresh air! Love your visits to my home. Thanks
I’ll definitely wish on a leaf, but there are so many to choose from!
Fingers crossed Vanna picks my name! Love you, Susan!
So, you’ve been on my mind so much that I checked your blog today just to make sure I hadn’t missed a post. I cracked open my autumn cookbook and am in process of making your chicken in cream sauce, checked my mail, and there you were! 💗 Love my Christmas story, a gift to myself and will soon order at least one more for my BFF.
The look on Jack’s face while he is staring at the spider is priceless! So cute.
What a precious friend for you.
Always love hearing from you if only for a short time!
Hooray! Your new Christmas book arrived today. Sooooooo eager to dive into it. Pretty soon I’m going to need a new SB shelf in the bookcase! Thank you for working hard to keep us all entertained. Linda
So fun! Thanks for doing all these nice things for us girlfriends! Enjoy the weekend!
p.s., I ordered and received my calendar for 2021! Love it. Thank you!
Thank you for your sunny thoughts. Up here in northern Canada the snow is here to stay so I love bright and sunny stories.
Love your Christmas book and love these pictures of my favorite, Jack,
You’re the best (and only!) blog I subscribe to and reading it brightens my day! You bring such an upbeat outlook to life that I am always cheered and inspired. Thank you!
Love your ghost Casper!
Would love to win something from my favorite illustrator and author! I have loved what you do for at least 30 years when I ‘discovered’ you😍. Like the little boy who wanted to be chosen to go home with someone who would adopt him in ‘Cider House Rules’, I will say ‘choose me’, right along with him!
Casper is my good luck charm!
Loved the Musica. Remember it first from “The Music Man” movie. How did the Osmond parents get those 4 (and later 6) young boys (and little girl) to sit still and learn to sing in such perfect harmony?
I recently found a bunch of your books on an auction site, so bought the ones I didn’t have. With so much suffering in the world, you heartfelt words shine a light. My prayers go out to all the families who have lost loved ones during this epidemic……..I won’t give it power by saying the name.
Thank you for always bringing happiness and cheer into our days 🙂
Lovely giveaway … you are wonderful to think about us.judyCinNC
Just love this season & here in Atanta we are actually getting a fall this year! Sometimes it’s 90s thru Sept. but this year I feel more in sync with ya’ll northerners. Our trees are turning and the air conditioning is off! Thanks for all you do Susan & for being you!
Kate
Yahoo….pick me, pick me!
Wow I loved Andy Williams and the Osmonds. I remember his show back in the 1960s. I love surprises especially your kind! Thanks for the short but sweet blog! 🌹 📚 🍁🍂
I have been a fan of yours since 2012 when I discovered your website. You always make me feel warm and fuzzy whenever I read your posts. Hope someday I will have the opportunity to meet you. I live in British Columbia, Canada. I look forward to your letters every month. The pandemic has hit all of us so hard and you can always pick me up. Love you Susan Branch!
Would love it if Vanna picked me! 🤞🏼
Thanks for the uplifting quick email in my inbox today! Love the choice of musica, too! So sweet. You always put a smile on my face! 🙂
Love Lida Rose, too. And all Barbershop music. Thank you!
Love your blogs, dear Susan! This one is a treasure… Seeing sweetie Jack. I love that face.
We lost our dear Lily Elizabeth in May of this year to kidney failure. She was 16 years old and we have had her to love since adopting her from a shelter when She was 6 months old. She was a long haired black and white tuxedo. Missing her so much. Hug Jack for me.
Jack and the spider made me laugh out loud 😂😂😂
Thank you for your steady stream of sunny optimism – it’s so hard to come by during these difficult days. I would LOVE the old Christmas book or the adorable quilt, but really have a place in my heart for vintage Christmas sentiments.
Candice
The Fall leaves are swirling down amid grey and then blue skies and I am thinking of Halloween and trying to figure out to be safe with Treats!! We had our last gatherings this week outside as our fall weather is getting colder and more blustery here in Michigan . Phone calls and zoom will have to do!!
Oh I could use a surprise.. Have a great Zoom meeting
Xxx
Oh, I would love to win!
Thank you, from one Susan to another! I always love hearing from you!❤️
I LOVED with Joe joined our tea party with the Titcomb Bookshop! So, please let them invade…would LOVE to see Jack! You, Susan, are making the home fires burn brighter with all of this staying at home time. Thank you so much for YOU!
Always know a treat is in store when there is a new blog post. Wonderful to see the world through your eyes, Susan. May you be richly blessed.
Short but sweet 😊❤️🍂👻 thanks for the uplifting treat ! And the osmomds with little Marie! Adorable! 😍🌹❤️
Susan, your art and stories are always a delight! Did you paint that mouse on Jacks nose? Never won anything but hoping! Happy Harvest time! Barbara
Hello again,
I posted a comment on the last email, but it didn’t show that I sent it so I’ll try commenting here!! It’s probably just me!
I love the last and this email❤️
Lovely pics and the quilt is gorgeous! As I said in the last comment I would love this as an early Halloween birthday gift as I will be 65!
Good luck to all of us!
Happy Halloween to all 👻👻🎃🎃
Love,
Doreen
Sweet post! The Osmonds were so cute! I would love to have Vanna choose my name. :o)

Your post is just what I needed today. I’m thankful for people like you in the world. Xo
Helloooo Susan:
Happy fall to you and all the girlfriends! While I dread what comes after fall, you might as well enjoy it, because nothing is going to keep it from coming! So this is me enjoying it! :0)
Barb
You’re always the best, having fun things to look forward to! Love my new Christmas book!
Just a note of appreciation for the wonderful blog .. filled with so many sweet pictures, texts, etc. Always happy to see you in my inbox.
I have your first Heart of the Home cookbook! And I have been making the Tea Bread that you also mentioned in a blog not too long ago…. early in our covid quarantine, when I didn’t want to go shopping all the time, I made the wonderfully simple loaf of tea bread, and have made it now many times…. awesome toasted with butter and jam. Thank you for all the wonderful recipes. My daughter now lives on the vineyard with her husband and baby, so I especially enjoy your vineyard pictures and stories.
And I am a quilt lover and quiltmaker! 🌷🌷🌷
I just received your 2021 Heart of the Home Calendar. It is just so beautiful!!
Love the Casper ghost in the window!
I am hoping my Christmas stocking will hold one of your books and a calendar. My husband knows how much I love your work 🙂
God had a special plan when you were born to make others happy with your art and words. Andy Williams is my favorite, I am 80 years old. I adore you!♥️
Hi Susan..and Joe and Jack Always so Fun to open the iPad and find a Happy Note from you and your Boys. Here is Western PA. the leaves barely started to color and Whoosh! down they started to fall. Love all of your books and can’t tell you how inspired I am to travel through the English countryside and see the Beatrix Potter estate for myself!!!! Thank you so much for sharing your beautiful life!!!
The “Lida Rose” video had a sweetness and innocence that is heartwarming ~ If only I could blink and go back in time ~
What a thoughtful and sweet giveaway. I’m at Quilter and I love old vintage quilts. There’s nothing better than napping under an old quilt on a rainy afternoon.
Love getting your newsletter! I enjoy your creativity so much. It makes me happy when I see a new email with your name!
Delightful. Thanks for keeping our sunny sides up, your so good at it.
Hi Susan
What a lovely song and their voices sound great together, what a nice time the 1960’s for music, the songs were the best. When I opened my mail and saw your blog it was a nice surprise, I always enjoy them, it totally brightens my day. I love the quote about catching a leaf, as here in New England the colour is brilliant and I can not stop taking photos and videos. I will be wishing on a leaf this weekend. Thank you for sending this today. The ghost looks great in your window.
A handmade quilt is the absolute best gift.
What a fun little post! Thank you
Sitting at your kitchen table would be a dream!
I love kitty’s expression as she eyes that spider! Such a sweet kitty.,
Thanks so much for this “snappy short”. I really needed a nice CAT this AM , and you made it happen! A vintage book and a cuddlier wrap are also enticing; I will save the music for later, to make “you” last longer !! Thanks again!
Jack, please help to pick me !! Thanks
I love kitty,s expression as he eyes the spIdea! Such a cute kitty!
Just got your Christmas book and it is lovely. Puts me in the Christmas spirit even though it isn’t even Halloween🤗
Oh please choose me! It would really brighten up my life! Thanks for all you do & have fun with your upcoming programs! 😁
OMGs! The Osmonds. Donny was the love of my life when I was about 10. My room was covered in posters of him and everything was purple. Thank you for the awesome memory of my childhood!
Quickies are the best. Love the comments.
Donna
Hi, Susan, I’m so glad you posted this today, as it would have been my dear Mama’s 107th birthday (I was a late baby!). She passed away in 1973 of a sudden heart attack when she was only 59 and I was only 20 years old. It seems like it has never gotten easier every year, but has softened somewhat perhaps. I know you lost your dear Mom recently – although they are always with us in Spirit. So it was so nice to have your “extra” post on this day, with a song that I know my Mom would have loved. I grew up on Big Band music as well as The Beatles, as she would often play the older music and sing it as she played guitar. And we did watch “The Andy Williams Show”. Thank you for giving me that special memory on this of all days. I think of you and send you special wishes as you adjust to your dear Mom’s passing. Also, many thanks for your blogs, as each one is always so enjoyable – and especially needed in these difficult times!
A bright spot on a chilly day here in the big woods of southeast Ohio. Your blog is always full of sunshine!
I LOVE Jack’s expression!
My Little Things mug was all I hoped it would be. A perfect Christmas gift (I will be wrapping it) to me from me or should it be from Santa or a secret pal from MV????
Love that kitty of yours! Georgia
Love, love your blog. Thanks for helping to keep our spirits high!!!!! Love photos of Jack & Joe!!! ❤️❤️
Always good to get something from you, quickie or not. I remember you had said you were working on the 2022 calendars and have an ask for you to consider. I noticed on my 2 year date book you have a little “Beat Breast Cancer” note. September is ovarian/gynecological cancer month and unlike breast cancer is only a woman’s disease. Typically a woman diagnosed with this is stage 3 or 4 due to it’s symptoms mimicking a multitude of other issues and no definitive test to diagnose. 70 percent will have a recurrence within the first two years. I am a thriver of 3 years and hope I have many more, but what I want and god’s plan may not align. I keep my fingers crossed he’s listening. But I digress, Smilow part of Yale New Haven hospital has a wonderful organization, Discovery to a Cure which has my amazing doctor Elena Ratner as one of it’s founders. It does research to develop new drugs and protocols as well as trying to come up with a test to find this disease far earlier. I want this disease which impacts so many of the girlfriends to at least get notice in September with our color teal. Don’t mean to go on and not taking anything away from Breast Cancer month, have had many friends and relatives diagnosed with that as well. Both diseases need research to stop us losing so many vibrant and amazing women and it strikes every age and ethnicity, doesn’t discriminate at all. Meanwhile I live my life and chose to be happy and positive. I am blessed and so lucky to have so much support and wonderful medical care. Thanks for listening. Love the picture of Jack and your handsome husband. Look forward to Vanna’s dive and pick!!
Your charming post brought sunshine thru the rain. Musica would have coaxed me back under the covers had their been a warm quilt to keep me snuggled. Thank you Susan!
What a delightful surprise, Susan! Always wonderful to have your cheery words, fabulous quotes and gorgeous paintings (not necessarily in that order). Be well xoxo
Love your cat!🐱 Can’t wait for your 2020 calendars!

Take care, dear Susan and all the friends!
