JUST a QUICKIE . . .

Good Morning Everyone! Just a quickie from me and Casper (the very friendly ghost)👻, waving from our upstairs bedroom window…this is a very short update, but I still have a song for you! A very sweet one, my Grandma’s favorite, and mine too, the video is as nice as the MUSICA!🎵 I’ve posted this song before, but since I can’t get enough, I don’t mind doing it again…👏I will be back next week along with Vanna to pull the winning names for our giveaway for the handmade quilt and the vintage storybook (see the next post if you missed it). You can still sign up, just leave a comment on either of these two posts and you’ll be entered! I know you’re waiting but I’m working on a slide show for my two ZOOM Events this Sunday and next, and I’m not done yet! I’ll be coming to you from my kitchen table! (I never know if there will be an appearance from a special guest star! They are both so UNpredictable!) I hope you’re able to join us, but if not . . . there will be MORE! Click on the link above for details on how to join the party ♥️. I know they’re asking that everyone buy a book, which is NOT my idea, although I totally understand why they have to do it, this world being what it is … but if you need a Christmas gift, you might think about it because the slide show is going to be all about this old house and some of our holiday traditions and I know it’s your cup of tea.💞 Unfortunately, this won’t work for our girlfriends from other countries, shipping costs being what they are. I’m so sorry, I’m only a guest of the bookstores, I have to do things the way they want to! I have never set up a Zoom talk of my own, one of these days I will need to learn how!!! What do you think? Good winter project!!Okay, must get back to it! Thank you for your patience . . . See you soon. Oh and PS, Kellee and I have been working on another little surprise. So nice to have things to look forward to! Always good news around here! Until then, thank you for all your luv-lee comments! Enjoy your days and do this ⬇️!🎃

    • Joellen Waldenmaier says:

I love reading all of your blogs. They are such a wonderful pick me up especially during this time. I also love reading your books. I have them all and have reread them a couple of times. I have a few of your cookbooks, too. Take care and thanks for all you do for us girlfriends.

  2. Pam Boivie says:

    Howdy Susan!
That was the best quickie ever! HA! Like a fun email from my little sis! They are our favorites! Even Jack made a quickie appearance! Have a happy day!

Such a nice surprise on a boring Friday. Way to start the weekend! Thanks Susan

  4. Karen McBride says:

Your Christmas book is just what I need — thanks for the reminder. I’ve been trying not to fret too much about the total shakeup of our Thanksgiving and Christmas traditions this year, with grandchildren back in school (maybe) and my husband and I in our 70s … “Christmas at Nana’s” is a big family event normally. Not this year! It’s all getting very wearing, isn’t it. We need little bright spots, like this post of yours. Thanks!!

  5. Liz Bierfelt says:

As always, reading your blogs are a bright spot in our every-day’s-the-same world. It’s such a pleasant change to read something that’s positive and unpolitical.

  6. Pamela C Payne says:

Your letters always delight my heart!

When life is on the downside you bring sunshine!

If you get a chance listen to “Step into the sunshine” by Evie…..I think you will love it!

  7. Janet O’Connor says:

    Hi Susan,
Thank you for today’s quickie post. Your happy messages always make me feel so much better even if I don’t get a chance to comment. You are always so positive and fun. Some of the news reports and programs are not what I like to listen to. They are really tough on my spirit.
I especially like the final quote you used: “If you can dream it; You can make it So.” It’s perfect!

    • Patty WALKER says:

      Hi Janet,

Like a well known Spiritual Teacher Dr Wayne Dyer once said…With the News Reports…. you do have an option …it’s called the “Off Switch”. Personally I don’t wish to have these negative energies in my daily life. So I look for the good and the Peace in each and everyday….

      Patty Walker

  26. Laurene Shewan says:

I recently found a bunch of your books on an auction site, so bought the ones I didn’t have. With so much suffering in the world, you heartfelt words shine a light. My prayers go out to all the families who have lost loved ones during this epidemic……..I won’t give it power by saying the name.

Hi, Susan, I’m so glad you posted this today, as it would have been my dear Mama’s 107th birthday (I was a late baby!). She passed away in 1973 of a sudden heart attack when she was only 59 and I was only 20 years old. It seems like it has never gotten easier every year, but has softened somewhat perhaps. I know you lost your dear Mom recently – although they are always with us in Spirit. So it was so nice to have your “extra” post on this day, with a song that I know my Mom would have loved. I grew up on Big Band music as well as The Beatles, as she would often play the older music and sing it as she played guitar. And we did watch “The Andy Williams Show”. Thank you for giving me that special memory on this of all days. I think of you and send you special wishes as you adjust to your dear Mom’s passing. Also, many thanks for your blogs, as each one is always so enjoyable – and especially needed in these difficult times!

  82. Debbie K says:

Always good to get something from you, quickie or not. I remember you had said you were working on the 2022 calendars and have an ask for you to consider. I noticed on my 2 year date book you have a little “Beat Breast Cancer” note. September is ovarian/gynecological cancer month and unlike breast cancer is only a woman’s disease. Typically a woman diagnosed with this is stage 3 or 4 due to it’s symptoms mimicking a multitude of other issues and no definitive test to diagnose. 70 percent will have a recurrence within the first two years. I am a thriver of 3 years and hope I have many more, but what I want and god’s plan may not align. I keep my fingers crossed he’s listening. But I digress, Smilow part of Yale New Haven hospital has a wonderful organization, Discovery to a Cure which has my amazing doctor Elena Ratner as one of it’s founders. It does research to develop new drugs and protocols as well as trying to come up with a test to find this disease far earlier. I want this disease which impacts so many of the girlfriends to at least get notice in September with our color teal. Don’t mean to go on and not taking anything away from Breast Cancer month, have had many friends and relatives diagnosed with that as well. Both diseases need research to stop us losing so many vibrant and amazing women and it strikes every age and ethnicity, doesn’t discriminate at all. Meanwhile I live my life and chose to be happy and positive. I am blessed and so lucky to have so much support and wonderful medical care. Thanks for listening. Love the picture of Jack and your handsome husband. Look forward to Vanna’s dive and pick!!
